The worst part is it seems to be mostly cruising on the highway say 55 mph and above. Full acceleration is smoothe the transmission does seem to get caught in the lower gears and wind to red line. 3/4 acceleration through 3rd gear then full throttle seems to keep it shifting better. Manumatic is also smoother and I haven't tried driving it around in tow/haul mode. I was thinking of upgrading to the Bwoody sway bar links and see what that does.
I dont think the links would help your issue you describe. I have the links, they firm up the body, not necessarily anything with the driveline...

Re: Overland question

Ive felt the same thing in another MDS vehicle from GM. Im not really sure you could just throw engineering at it to fix the issue. Its physics! If you want to accelerate a mass (cylinder heads) quickly you need a lot of force and you are going to feel that force. Even if you could engineer a better solution it wouldnt exactly be a sound long term investment on Chryslers part. The current V8 engine has a use by date - its going to be either legislated out of existence or priced out of existence through fuel costs. Id bet that the development budget was all but spent on the V6 and CRD units leaving stuff all for the old school V8.
