Paddle shifter delay, rev limiter, ouch
Okay so I'll try to keep this simple. I have a 2014 Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4X4. It's got the 3.6 VVT, and runs great. So here's my issue.
I generally drive in sport mode, although I override it often at this point and use the paddles (going into a curve I might prefer 5th as opposed to 6th). While I never floor it from a standstill, I do like to get her moving every now and then starting in 1st gear. Issue is, at WOT, I'll shift at about 5,300 rpm into second - but the transmission doesn't shift until after it climbs over 6,000 rpm thus violently hitting the rev limiter.
I understand this could be due to user error, but I have done a few test runs making sure that I am shifting well before I climb too far above 5,000 rpm. It's definitely registering that I hit the paddle, as it does shift..eventually. I am quite young, although I have been taking advanced driving lessons (roadway, more common in UK), and I require my shifts to be precise, when I make them. So much for keeping this post simple, eh? Any thoughts?
