Paint issues

Anyone had any paint issues with their 2015s? I just noticed on my 3 day old HA that I have bubbles in the bottom corners of the driver, passenger, and rear passenger door. The one on the rear passenger door has popped and paint is missing. I can see some type of white powder there it popped. Not sure what to do here. Not sure if touch up paint will be the answer and not sure what the dealer is willing to do. Will have to call tomorrow and see what happens.

Re: Paint issues

Jeeps do not have the best paint jobs. My '15 Overland came with copious amounts of orange peel in the clear coat. I bought it at night (I know, stupid), and didn't notice until the next day. My two partners also have GC's ('13 & '14), and theirs also have a lot of orange peel and paint imperfections.

I was at the dealer for service today, and they had a '15 SRT in the showroom. It had more orange peel than my Overland !

I've mitigated most of the orange peel with Velvet pads on a DA buffer, along with Meguiar's 105 compound. I also had a few of the "bubbles" that you described. I popped them and after light sanding, applied touch up paint, and they are not noticeable.

Your dealer would probably address your paint imperfections, if you trust them to not make them worse....

Re: Paint issues

This must be a new issue starting in 2015.

My 2011 Overland, my friends 2013 Limited, and an acquaintance at my gym 2013 SRT, all have beautiful paint jobs.

People think my 2011 is brand new.

Orange peel has never been an issue.

If your car is under factory bumper to bumper get that shit handled

That's good to know. I took it to the dealer and they took picures to send to Chrysler. Stated it would be a week or two and Chrysler would either approve or deny a fix for it.

If it's that bad and obvious they should approve a new paint job. And don't let them spot paint and let your car end up looking like a cow with ghost spots... If they deny, start looking up ways to speed up the process so it actually blisters and flakes off while still under warranty.

I wonder if you got some sort of chemical on it somewhere to cause this.

It's not horrable. Lititle spots about the size if the tip of an ink pen. It's granite metallic so it should not be hard at all to match up. If Chrysler tries to deny it i will raise hell to make the dealer take care of it. Only had it 3 days so they know it was nothing I did. I bought ithis on a rainy day also so they know I could not have caught the issue like they dident. I'll update when they get back with me. I have put in an email to Jeep Cares so they can go ahead and be involved to get this fixed ASAP.

Thanks for all the input. I love my vehicle minus the minor paint issues...

Mine has the same thing but on the bonnet / hood edge. It's a 2013 build.
