Well if they don't just let them paint it and then drive it right over to another manufacture lot and buy a vehicle from someone who knows how to paint a vehicle... That's exactly what I will do if it comes to that point.

Re: Paint pimples in 15 HA hood

there is another thread on this also about these corroding hoods. unbelievable that this is happening on 2 or 3 year old vehicle paint jobs. my 2014 has several places on the under side of the hood that this corroding bubbling is happening. FCA is going to get an ear full if I find any corrosion on the topside of my hood, seems to only be a matter of time. No excuse for this on vehicles this young.

This is my first jeep because I left ford explorers because of their hood paint issues. Will be my last jeep if the dealer dosent take care of me. Repainting is absolutely not going to cut it.

Re: Paint pimples in 15 HA hood

I have the same problem on my September build 2015 GC the hood has a few spots of clear cracking and looks alittle corroded in some spots and took me awhile but in the right light I can see my roof is doing it to, only had 400kms on it when I noticed goes in Monday for a paint "technician" go have a look.
Very disappointed only had it two week

Absolutely unacceptable. Make sure whoever does the paint work has a warranty past the Jeep 3/36 because after that Jeep WILL NOT help you. I would also probably see if I could get them to replace the vehicle or threaten lemon law...

Re: Paint pimples in 15 HA hood

Well to give everyone an update, a new hood was approved and ordered in for me. I dropped off the vehicle this Tuesday.

I was advised it will take 2 days for paint & No loaner was given.

2 days sounds right as you really want that paint to dry. BS though that they dident give you a loaner. What color is you GC? Some colors are hard as hell to match, so be sure to give it a good look over in the sun before you accept the vehicle back. I would also recommend you purchase a clear bra for the hood as the body shop paint is never as good with standing up to road debris.

Yeah, I was quite bummed out about having no loaner.. Having to bum a ride to and from work is killing me lol..

My jeep is brilliant black and thanks for the heads up on the clear bra, that will probably be my next stop once o get my vehicle back.
