First of all...please don't respond back and bite my head off. Regardless of what you may think I'm actually trying to help.
This is what I would recommend, BUT whatever caused this damage also pitted the factory paint protection film, so I'd be concerned if you come into contact with that again it would damage the film in the same manner which it did in your case. Replacing that film may be as costly as repainting the lower part of the doors.
Wherever you have it installed I would discuss this with the installer and see what kind of warranty they offer in case that should happen...
