Re: Pano Roof / Sunshade Noises?

i think the easiest way to replicate this rattle for me anyway -

lift down the drivers side visor and, release it so it hits the headliner. You will hear the rattle even in a parked car. I only hear the rattle when driving over small bumps etc and with with sunshade fully open. Gonna have it checked at the dealer next week.

Sounds like I had the same noise as some of you. Pushing the clips around the pano sunroof back in place has silenced the rattle.

Re: Pano Roof / Sunshade Noises?

If can be any more specific about where and how these "clips" were pushed back into place, I'd appreciate it. I've looked and can't feel them anywhere. My rattle is coming from above the passengers side rear door in the area of the track that the sunshade rides on.

Re: Pano Roof / Sunshade Noises?

I really just lucked out. I simply began to apply light pressure on the headliner near the edge of the sunroof on all four sides. The clips are not visible, but you can feel them and the headliner push in to place when pressing on certain areas. I had two that were not totally inserted, one on the driver and one on the passenger side near the front seats.

At the back of the pano roof opening the headliner is held in place with small push pin retainer clips. Several (3) of mine were not snapped or pushed into place. When I started poking and pulling I heard one snap into place. I then started checking the headliner around the back of the pano opening and had 2 more pop into place. I took if for a test drive, and perfectly quiet! Yeah!!! All is good again.
Just did this and 3 of Mine in the Same Spot also after being pushed in pop and locked it! Thnx!

Re: Pano Roof / Sunshade Noises?

I have a 2012 Grand Cherokee with the regular sunroof, and we have the same type of noise happening. We noticed it after only 2 days out of the showroom.

UPDATE: After taking a nice long ride, we have found the problem... It appears the vibrating noise only happens when the sunroof carboard shade is closed. When the shade is open there is no noise.

I am guessing that when the sunroof shade is open, it is securing whatever is loose in the roof.

Goint to the Dealer tomorrow.

Re: Pano Roof / Sunshade Noises?

It was determined that there was no clips or velcro installed in the roof of my 2012. A rep from Jeep told my dealer that the pieces were discontinued in the 2012's. The rep suggested to order the missing pieces and install them to see if that fixes the rattling issue.

The jeep is at the dealer getting the pieces installed. I will update

Re: Pano Roof / Sunshade Noises?

I assume they have to R&R the entire headliner to do this??

R&R?

I don't know what they have to do to fix it.
