After checking many things out. I think you are right. It is yhe hard epoxy glue that holds the metal frame to the glass. One day Im going to put UHMW tape in between and see if it gets better.

That sounds good in theory, but I've learned over the years, that some things are just better lived with, than digging a hole deeper and deeper, especially where automobile mechanics are involved.

I.E.: bringing the vehicle in, they can't recreate the problem, in the process they've gotten grease all over my beige headliner and leather upholstery, broken a couple of clips on the headliner, then having to make and appointment to go back, fight with a service manager, time......money.....frustration......more time.........

You know what? The little rattle is annoying, but maybe not the worse thing in the world!

Sure it'd be nice if a simple TSB/Fix was discovered, but I think the biggest problem with the "Pano Sunroof Rattle", is that many of us are experiencing different rattles from different places in the roof!

Mine is back in the shop today so they can drop the headliner. I'm ready to be rattle free.

So it wasn't the glass then if they have to drop the headliner?

They called and said they had to " order some parts". Will pick it up tomorrow. Had a rattle in the right passenger hand grip area. And also the glass seemed to vibrate over bumps. Will see tomorrow and report back what all was listed.

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

Anxious to hear. My rattle is above the rear passengers side roof area by the hand grip too.

The problem was the sunroof cable drive tubes were rattling. these were tightened down and extra foam backing was added around them. Headliner had to be removed to do this, thankfully it seems re-installed correctly and i dont see any greasy fingerprints on it. yea! all is well again with my overland. and it only took half a day!
This sounds more like my cause. The rattle is only when closed and even opened 6" the noise is gone. When I tap the left rear headliner (near the corner of the sunroof), I can duplicate the noise. The sunroof and rails are all solid.

Just had the dealership deliver my car to my work. he said there is a lot of work involved. They are still typing up the paperwork so I don't have the full details yet but he did say they needed to replace the right rail. They also adjusted the glass on the roof so didn't vibrate.

Only had a few greasy fingerprints. Usually I would freak out but I've had good luck with Clorox wipes and it worked great.

On a funny note, my service advisor told me while the headliner was out they noticed some weird hook ups that may be for future enhancements. I said like what? He said a phone jack. My first thought was sweet. A place I can have my radar detector hard wired to. But it turns out it was my radar wire I had ran to my rear view mirror lol.

Test drove the car on my lunch break and it sounds solid. Only took 2.5 days. Glad I work close to home.

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

Did they list any "details" on the slip as to exactly what work was performed?
