I know this is a late response but I know what this noise is. That little button (looks like some sort of receiver bump) in front of the front speaker is making the noise. I have it as well. I don't know how to fix it permanently but if you put your finger on this buton, the noise goes away

They've recreated the rattle more than once with techs in the car. The most common way to get the rattle to happen is to simply close one of the four doors. Happens right away. My rattle is also directly adjacent to the rear passenger handle. pressing anywhere in the area stops the rattle, but that makes sense as that also reduce the vibration. I'm really hoping this fixes it and I'm really hoping they do this right, without damaging the headliner or that will need to be replaced as well. They are going to have my vehicle for four days, hoping they can get it done in that time as well. I'm very frustrated to say the least, this is nuts. They say there isn't a TSB to follow, and they say they don't follow "online posts" as potential TSB's (crap, Chrysler, listen to the damn customers, we're your best beta testers if you support us). Anyway, this is my fourth GC and it's had more rattles and issues than even my 93 did. Not a good sign, as it was also the most expensive of them all.

I agree that certain things are left alone, but when I had that rattle above my clients head for 2.5 hours on a trip across the state last week, I had enough!!! You can even hear it over some DJ Tiesto! NO BUENO.

Good luck to all, I'll let you know how things go when they are done.
Hey all, quick update from me. I took mine in and they had it for 3 days. They found some interesting issues. They found a cross threaded bolt holding the sunroof assembly together that was fixed, they attached the plastic drain tube to the track better and took a look at a bunch of other things. Put everything back together and other than some wierd plastic scratches on the windshield, my dealer was very careful and did a great job. Often times, headliners come back with nasty grease stains and stuff on them, not this time, and not at Centennial Chrysler Jeep, they did a great job. Unfortunately, the noise returned. It does seem to be slighly more muffled and is happening less, but it's still there. Needless to say, I'm getting really frustrated. I never though I'd say this, but I'm thinking about a Toyota here soon if Chrysler can't get their crap together and put some engineers on these issues to help the dealers. Still no TSB and still no help from Chrysler. Funny thing, when I went back to say the noise is still there, they had just had another Overland with Panaroof come in for exactly the same noise. They are slowly starting to believe me.

The tech now isn't sure if it's the glass from the panaroof, or the track itself. I don't really care, I just want it fixed. So I'm curious if Chrysler will tell me again when I call their claims department that they don't monitor these posts?

I really don't want to tear out this headliner myself but it's killing me.

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

I feel your pain. I'm one with an Overland that's had a sunroof rattle from the day we brought the vehicle home! I'm just too afraid to let my dealer start tearing things apart, and have been living with the rattle for 15 months now. I appreciate your posts more than you know. At least I know I'm not alone. Please continue to keep us updated. I know the frustration your feeling, driving with a close to 50k vehicle that "rattles"!

May I suggest that you take your Jeep to GO Jeep, Broadway? Ask for Justin (I think that's his name) in Service department. The last time I was there for the same rattle, they put a small stain on the headliner.... but when I pointed it to them.. they apologized and quickly cleaned it up. BTW, no rattle since the last visit.

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

All-

I have been having the same issues with my sunroof. After months at the dealer with no luck I called Chrysler headquarters and filed an official complaint They have had their "star" techs researching it and they think they have a solution. These techs are coming from Detroit to work on my vehicle. It is scheduled to go in next Tuesday. Hopefully they will fix it and I can pass on some info.

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

Glad someone's finally had the B _ _ _ s to do something about this lol.

Where exactly is your rattle coming from? Would love for someone to determine exactly what's causing this, vs. bringing it in to a dealer and having it be a "Guinea Pig" and looking for something they have no idea about.

Mine seems to be coming from the front of the sunroof. It only does when closed and not open. Everyone who has driven it, including the dealer, agrees its not right and is pretty bad. They have had my headliner down and have re-tightened everything and adjusted the cables with no luck. At one point they wanted to replace the entire sunroof but I refused(worried about leaks, etc). I said I wanted it fixed or I was filing a lemon law claim for a new vehicle. I was about to do that but figured I would try Chrysler direct before going through that hassle. I seem to be making some progress now. If they dont fix it though I will file a claim and ask for a new vehicle or simply have them buy me out so I can get something else.

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

Well, as started in my earlier posts, mine seems to be coming from over the passengers side rear door. Thank you for being so persistent and following through on this. I for one, really appreciate you keeping us posted / updated!

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

I had this same issue, I took it to dealer and they fixed it. One of the mounting screws was cross threaded. Haven't had a problem since

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

So I'm finally back to report to everyone mine has been corrected. It wasn't pretty, and it took far too long, but after the dealership had more than one unit with the exact same issue come in, they replaced both sunroof tracks and so far, not a single rattle! Been about a week now since it was replaced. Took two full days and definitely a lot of work.

I ended up having to go through the headliner and use some carpet cleaner on it, as there was grease and grime everywhere, but I can't blame the tech for that, it's a nasty job.

So far is all good, but now I've got some panels that don't fit right and a knocking noise in the rear liftgate somewhere when the body flexes (i.e. going over curbs) but that's a whole new matter.

So everyone, I hope your local service departments can help replace your sunroof tracks. Someday, Chrysler will need to acknowledge this and create a TSB, there are definitely some design flaws.
