Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

Okay, so I spoke too soon. Today, on the freeway leaving the airport, the rattle came back. It's not as bad, but it's still there. I'm curious if it's just a complete design flaw, maybe something in the way the metal trim mounts to the glass, I don't know. But I'm really frustrated.

Called Chrysler, my Jeep has now been in the shop on average once a month since I bought it. May be time for Lemon Law/Buy Back, something. Anyone undertaken this process that can PM me some advice?

Not to rub salt in your wound, but this is exactly why I've chosen to live with the rattle!

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

This is one of the reasons I decided to cut it as a loss and trade it in. No regrets whatsoever...

same here...mine was at the back behind the pano roof on the driver side just past the pano glass. I forget if it was the pano frame or headliner attachement, but it was fixed and no issues since.

The only person who does not have the sunroof rattle problem seems to be the dealer! I'll start a facebook page: Live with the rattle...

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

Took mine in for the rattle above rear seat pass side. They removed the headliner and found a cable broke and rubbing a rod of some kind. They said that they are going to replace both tracks. Gonna take a week. I might have used the pano roof 20 times since I bought it. Doesn't say much for the quality of this thing if this happens after just 20 use cycles.

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

That's exactly where my rattle is......above the passenger side rear. Mine has been there since day one, however the roof operates perfectly. I'm curious if there could be a "broken cable" that's not causing the operation of the roof to malfunction?

Looking forward to your outcome. I'm still gun shy about bringing mine in and having the headliner torn apart.

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

I am sorry guys... but my Jeep has been rattle free ever since the dealership fixed it in March/early April. You need to take your Jeep to a better dealership that can actually fix it.

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

Congrats man! You may be one of the "lucky ones". Count your blessings ha ha.

If you read the majority of the posts here however, you'll see that more often than not, the problem is either not found, or not corrected after an attempt to do so.

I think one of the main problems, is that this "rattle" doesn't appear to be consistent from GC to GC. Some report it in the front by the wind deflector, others (like myself) report it above the passengers side rear door roof area. There are obviously several different things, causing several different rattles.

I will tell you this, NO service department is gonna go crawling around my Light and Dark Frost Beige leather interior, and tear apart my beige headliner, searching for something they don't even know what they're looking for, only to make a mess and not correct the problem. You gotta know when to hold 'em, and know when to fold 'em.

For the time being, I'll continue to look at my pristine, clean interior and headliner, and turn up the radio!!
