Looking forward to your outcome. I'm still gun shy about bringing mine in and having the headliner torn apart.
When I get it back I'll let you know what exactly they did. I told them that I didn't want to see one fingerprint of grease/dirt when I get it back. They assured me that wouldn't happen. So far this dealership has not burned me so I'll see what happens.

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

My jeep developed a rattle over a weekend trip recently (under 2k miles on the jeep). It's coming from the rear passenger side panoramic sunroof. I hear it on all road surfaces and it's loud...I hear it easily when I have music turned up. I don't want my jeep torn apart, but this is no where near a level I can just ignore. Hopefully the dealership has seen enough of these by now and know what to do.

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

This seems to be the same exact location of my rattle. Above the rear passenger door, in the roof area.

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

are you guys with the rear rattle sure it's not the headliner? The clips that hold the headliner just behind the pano roof came unclipped and have had my dealer reclip them twice now. If it happens again, I am going to come up with my own fix. Not sure if this is the same issue mentioned throughout this thread, but thought I'd mention it.

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

Have, pushed and pressed on every section of the headliner near and all around the rattle. Nothing "clicks"! 99% sure it's not the clips.

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

Well after being in the shop for two weeks I got my JGC back. The shade was not installed properly and the wind deflector was missing along with some clips and my cargo net. They are addressing those issues now. The rattle was caused by a clip that was part of a cable that was tied into the track system. They replaced both tracks. Its been a long road and the dealer has been very accomadating with a loaner and a complete detail treatment of my Jeep.

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

This thread makes me glad I have the regular sunroof. No rattles in my regular sunroof with just over 2000 miles on the car.

I am amazed that a Jeep dealer would return a car to owner with the wind deflector missing and the power shade installed improperly.

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

dealer fixed the creek in the pano roof by simply adjusting the rear glass further down into the reses area.

Actually I didn't want any sunroof but it was standard on the Overland. The mechanic that finally fixed the issues told me that some heads rolled over my fiasco. I told him that they should have. When I showed the issues to the service manager he was really pissed.

Re: panoramic sunroof rattles

Personally if given the choice, I'd still keep my pano-roof, even WITH the rattle. My rattle is annoying, but not totally unbearable. The light inside the cabin with the pano-roof, makes up for the rattle as far as I'm concerned.

Also, (like you), I just try to turn up the radio ha ha. I'm living with the rattle until such time that a TSB is issued for the problem, so I don't have to go through the grief others here have, of having tech's tearing apart the headliner of my vehicle, searching for something they don't even know what they're looking for.

Get the pano roof. You will love the openness of the Jeep. If there is a rattle, like I had, it will get fixed at a good dealership. I found the rattle within days of purchase and got it fixed. 6+ months so far.. no rattle.
