Passenger seat headrest rattle

I have a rattle with the passenger seat headrest. I think the rattle is where the posts go into the seatback if I put my hand on the headrest it stops. I know several other people reported having this ratlle just wondering if anyone was able to get it fixed? It doesn't rattle all the time but other times it drives me nuts.

Had the same thing on mine. If you take the black back cover off the back of the seat you might be able to grease the headset posts and get it fixed. I had my entire seat back replaces before I got mine fixed.

Re: Passenger seat headrest rattle

I remember seeing a post, either on this forum or some other one, where the person raised the headrest as far up as possible, wrapped each post with 3M clear packing tape, then pushed the headrest back down. I guess the tape provided for a tighter fit for the posts and solved the problem.

I tried this I only put the tape around the left post the one with the clip for setting the height. It took care of the rattle its completely gone. Just 2 wraps of the tape and put the headread back down and its been gone since. I didn't really want to do this but when I saw pictures of a repair i'm glad I went this way.

Re: Passenger seat headrest rattle

I tried putting tape around the post; it helped but did not completely solve rattle. I then noticed that by moving the posts back and forth manually, I could hear squeeking coming from the round plastic anchors (at the bottom of the posts) rubbing against the top of the leather seats. I forced some thin foam between the leather and the palstic anchors and that seems to have solved the problem.

Re: Passenger seat headrest rattle

I had this fixed last week. My service center undid whole seat cover and replaced some sort of binders that hold head rest posts. Now the noise is gone.
