Penstar engine or exhaust ticking

Sorry if this been brought up..search on mobile app brought no luck
2015 v6 overland....200 miles on it.
Only hear a ticking noise if I'm close to buildings or high curbs..I hear it up to around 30ish mph. It is tied to the engine rpm rather than vehicle speed..not sure if it's exhaust leak, engine tick or if this is normal??
Just askin before I ask the dealer to look...thanks

Re: Penstar engine or exhaust ticking

Since it's not speed dependent, it's probably not this, but I had a ticking noise when driving by high curbs, walls, in parking garage, etc. Turned out it was a stone in my tire tread that wouldn't pop out. Removed stone, and ticking stopped.

Thanks for the idea, but is definitely tied to engine rpm vs speed..tick goes faster when i rev the motor.
Odd thing is, i rev it in the garage...no noise

Re: Penstar engine or exhaust ticking

I don't know if this is the same symptom or not but I noticed my 2015 Pentastar is very "ticky". In fact my wife and I were just discussing it today. Surprising because it's not a direct injection engine.
