Only because you know & seen the damage. If they said they found one 20 miles away and you can pick it up in two days you would be happy. But all they have to do is send it to body shop and walla you have your baby. I know how you feel i would be the same way.But look at your options make them fix with pain & suffering maybe get some money back LOL or order another GC with different color. I know what i would do.Good Luck

Re: Picked up my wk2. Not a happy camper

I can understand your disappointment, but this is not a huge deal. As long as they agree to fix the damage and provide you transportation during that time, I'd be content.

What many people don't realize is that, while your dealer missed this damage, a fair percentage of cars delivered to dealerships have some body/paint issue that is rectified before the car is ever seen by a customer. Truly, this is very, very minor. Just have them fix it.

Re: Picked up my wk2. Not a happy camper

They're not going to replace the Jeep, nor should they.

They'll polish out the paint, and replace the window/trim. The window and trim are one peice, you can't just replace the trim on that window. Mine had some dents in the trim on that side from a small hailstorm that they had to replace, the trim under the front and rear doors just pops off, but that trim doesn't. I just left a very small dent in that trim instead of them replacing the window and worrying about leaks, etc...

Re: Picked up my wk2. Not a happy camper

ok..what do you guys/girls think..i already have excepted the fact i am stuck with this vehicle...

Im going to ask of course for a replacement window, trim, and the paint be fixed.

I am going to ask for free:
Slush mats, cargo mat, chrome fog bezels, wheel locks and have them install the splash guards I already have in hand free on charge... asking too much?

Or do I go the take money off the price of the vehicle route? and how much should i expect if I go that route?

thanks again for input..

If you go back right away, I would imagine that you will not have a problem under the warranty. I'll even bet they have seen this before.

Maybe they should come paint your house for you too?

I think you're being unreasonable. Things like this happen, some yahoo down in the new car prep department didn't notice this, and they let it be delivered. They'll fix it, ask for a free loaner when they do and maybe ask them for a freebie (they should offer, but likely won't). Pick one thing you want them to do to it while its there, like install your splash guards and call it done.

Re: Picked up my wk2. Not a happy camper

When I was going to sign my paperwork for my New GC 2012 I notice in the around the car inspection a scratch in a fender near the front bumper. I told the salesman that I did not want that specific car. I went to the storage area where there was another GC same color and everything and ask to exchange for that one.
Lucky me I did becuse we did not notice that the one I picked originally did not have the adaptive cruise control and a few other things.
So I ended with a better option level for the same price. Haaaa..

Re: Picked up my wk2. Not a happy camper

I'd make sure they DON'T show any paperwork related to your VIN in their system that the paint is retouched. And when you trade it in and they ask if it's ever had any paint work done the answer is no, unless of course you actually do have additional paint work done during the years of ownership.
