LOL, you don't get it.

Sh!t happens in life. If it were me, and they fixed the vehicle to my satisfaction without a lot of hassle to me (which is where I was going with the loaner)...that would be enough for me. It sounds like you're trying to profit off of this mistake by the dealer in some effort to "get back at them". They didn't do anything to you, some $8 an hour hack in the new car prep department missed this. If they hadn't, they would have just fixed it before you took delivery and you would have never known...and you would have been happy. So the end result after this repair is going to be the same as it would have been had you never seen the damage...

So, if it were me I wouldn't ask for anything. If you have those splash guards ask them to install those for you.

If I have a bad meal in a restaurant I don't ask for something for free. I let them know my dissatisfaction, and if they offer fine. If they don't, I pay...and never return. No big deal.

Seriously, I think a lot of guys on here overreact. A good detailer should be able to make that all look new in a few minutes (judging by what the pictures show).

Re: Picked up my wk2. Not a happy camper

Mistakes happen, it's a part of life. the dealer will fix it. From there instead of trying to bleed them dry with freebies be nice and understanding and it will pay off big time for you in the future. As a salesperson I always remember the customer who was understanding and not demanding and as a salesperson I bend over backwards for them. Taking a loaner to them when they need service, speaking with the service manager about extra discounts for them, etc etc. If they agree to fix it to your satisfaction then they have done what they should do.

I joined this forum so I could get info out to the members and to give a dealers point of view. Most of you don't care for the dealers point of view and I get it. For those of you that do and understand it will use it to your advantage when dealing on a new Jeep or when you are in for service. Like they say, "you catch more bees with honey".

Just my 2 cents as a member and a salesperson. Give the dealer a chance, be firm but be cool and see what happens.

is there a new buffing method that removes nicks in glass

ETA: but seriously, don't go asking for the world. make sure it's fixed properly, glass replaced etc.

when mine was jacked up, i was cool with some touch-up paint and i was GTG, pat @ fields was more than helpful and i've given recommendations to buy from pat.

I completely agree with Pat on this. Stuff happens and you have to move on. Yes I would be pissed at first to see it and that they did t catch it, but you have to move on. Now why you haven't went back to the dealer is beyond me or at least called the sales person, I'm surprised since your asking everyone what you should do. Go get it done and move on. Be polite and ask if they will put your splash guards on for your trouble (most likely they will).

I'm not trying to be rude but just get it fixed and move on

That sucks man, but listen to the rest. I know it sucks having waited as long as you did, but just have em fix it and move on. Its really minor in the big scheme. I mean you still have a BRAND NEW jeep.

I was referring to the paint...scratches don't look deep at all. No need to order a completely new jeep.

If it makes u feel any better I'm off to pick up my brand new Limited from the auto body shop. I had it a week before I noticed the dents in the hood. When I took possession it was almost the end of the day with very poor lighting so I did not notice. When I pulled it out of the garage into the bright sun my first day off you could see them plain as day. Took it back to the dealer and they replaced the hood and through on a bug deflector for wasting my time. An annoyance for sure but all worked out. I doubt your dealer will do any less. Good luck!
