Re: Picked up my wk2. Not a happy camper

Some of you guys are whiny idiots...sorry, but it has to be said. Apparently some of you also know nothing about detailing cars.

If you're curious as to which camp I'm in, SW03ES's reply a few spots up was well stated.

Also, $40,000 is not that big of a purchase, especially if you only put $3,000 down and it wasn't even cash.

didn't say 3k was all i put down..15k down total..3k got me rewards on my credit card toward other freebies/purchases thank you very much..and it will be paid off when i get the bill...if i was allowed to do the whole downpayment by card i woulda, that would have been 15k worth toward reward points...some of us get rewards for spending money even if we have cash in hand...i charge my 99cent coffee every morning...goes toward freebies, why not? its paid off at the end of month..

I'm well aware of how CC rewards points work, you're preaching to the choir.

Did you buy $1 coins from the US Mint to get free vacations using CC points?

Absolutely he does, I never said he didn't All I (and others by the way) said was he will be more successful getting the issue addressed if he remains calm, reasonable and professional

for you to say that if he does not like them why do business with them is a crock. he cant just return the thing and im pretty sure he wouldnt have dealt with them if he knew this situation was gonna happen.
I was talking about the future.

I have been in sales for many years and am very successful, I can tell you that this is absolutely not true of good salespeople. Not all salespeople are good, not all salespeople are cut out for it, but you can identify those that are not and move on. The salesman didn't damage this guy's car, the delivery company did.

Good salespeople realize the value is in the long term. You have to understand that car sales is maybe 10% as lucrative as it once was, the guy who sold him that Jeep might have made $50...or $100...depending on the deal. Therefore there are a disproportionate amount of bad salespeople in the car industry because good salespeople can make a better living elsewhere.

Quote:
and i may be blind but im not seeing where he called the sales guy an "idiot"
Right here:

My Jeep was delivered to me with minor hail damage. I accepted delivery and returned the next day to have a few minor dings removed and a few peices of chrome trim replaced. No big deal. Did it bug me? Yeah...but the fixed it so who cares? Didn't ask them for a thing.

I Agree with the side that says I should get something in return for this BS. I didnt ask for alot. Just slush mats.
Yeah you just asked the salesman to turn over all the profit he might have made on the deal. Thats not a lot.

"i dont know what world you live in where when you treat sales men with respect and they respect you back, but in the real world they are out to get your dollar not make friends. and as soon as you sign that dotted line they want nothing to do with you."

Not in todays world, the successful salespeople want to build a relationship with the client. They aren't looking for one sale, they want numerous sales and referrals. The successful salespeople network, refer clients to local business owners such as restaurants clothing boutiques, etc and use their contacts as a database for prospecting.

Now back to the OP, make sure it is fixed to your satisfaction and just a little tidbit of info... if it isn't to your satisfaction let them know that you will be putting up online reviews about your experience. That usually will change their attitude toward you. It sounds like you did everything the right way so now it's their turn to step up and do the right thing.

I don't think anybody is saying any of that...

I think you've obviously got a chip on your shoulder and thats what you're reading into what we're saying. We were advising him to keep his perspective on the situation. He's not the Sultan of Brunei because he bought a $40k car. They didn't murder his wife, they screwed up his car. It can be fixed, and it will be fixed...get a grip. They don't owe him "damages" or "reparations"...and they don't deserve his disrespect.

He came here with an attitude of entitlement and we shared with him why that attitude was going to get him nowhere. And as you saw from the result...it got him nowhere.
