LOL, both parties point of view absolutely has a role in any business transaction. Nothing emotional about it. You can't negotiate with someone effectively without knowing their point of view. "Why should I give a damn about the dealer's POV"? Because you're a human being.

And yes, the dealer should be concerned with you being happy. However, some consumers cannot be pleased.

Thats just absolutely not true. I have done a lot of business with car dealerships in my life, both as a consumer and as a consultant. There are far more honest dealerships out there than dishonest ones.

I'm talking about what the salesman earned from the sale. The salesman does not make all of the profit to the dealership, and he will not be in a position where he can make decisions about what the dealership will or will not come out of pocket to do.

What he should have done was apologized up and down and taken the OP's situation to his superiors and tried to make sure they did something to help him out. But...like I said...not everybody's good.
you just cant get over it huh? leave it alone.. stop trying to be some sort of hero for the dealerships.

and i find it funny how you say there are alot of "honest" dealerships out there when you posted in another thread where you said " the best dealership for service is no dealership" if you trust them so much why are you not using them.

and you must be some sort of robot to not believe there are any emotions involved with dealing with a dealership and buying a car or any buisness transaction.

I was the one that said the emotion comment. I don't buy things with emotion really. I am not attached to material things other than my guns and things handed down to me. That's just me.

I am glad Smitty got the mats. The salesman didn't foot the bill for the mats, the dealership did. Maybe not every dealer is a too many are. I say this having a good relationship with a few dealers in my area.

I have had issues with dealers and they made it right. was it their fault, not all the time. Business is business gentleman. Sometimes you bite bull and sometimes you get bit. It all works it's way around in the end is my take on it.

Why don't you leave it alone? I'm not worked up here in the slightest, I'm just having a conversation. As a matter of fact, I wasn't even addressing you in my last post. So, if you don't want to participate in our conversation...don't.

And look through the thread, I'm not the only one taking the dealer's point of view into account here.

Because I get better service for less money from my independent mechanic. I used dealer service for many, many years. Its not because the dealerships I had been using were dishonest, they just go about servicing and repairing a car differently than an independent mechanic.

I'm not a robot, I'm a businessman. There us no emotion involved in a business transaction for me no, I'm a pro.

But, not letting emotion into my decision making process doesn't mean I don't consider the other side's needs or their point of view, which I do.

Geez, I had a few drinks and wrote this. I just read my comments and it's a riddle. lol I am sorry for my drunken post. Many dealers are crooks. I grew up i a family that owned a automotive shop. I choose to do the work myself when I can.

Re: Picked up my wk2. Not a happy camper

I think most dealers are honest for the most part. The overhead for a dealer are alot higher than a corner garage so the costs are going to be higher. People just need to look at it from both points of view everything in life can't always be me me me.

Re: Picked up my wk2. Not a happy camper

Glad to hear the dealer is good for the slush mats. Hope all goes well with the repair!

For the hassle of having to go back to the dealer to drop off and pick up ur car for repair and be without your new car for a period of time is a hassle, so you should be compensated in some way. I think that's the way the dealer has looked at it and that's why they had no issue giving you the slush mats!

If you had of been disrespectful I think they would have baulked at it.

Sounds lick everything will turn out ok, good luck

Re: Picked up my wk2. Not a happy camper

Well I got most of the damage fixed. Window and trim are perfect now. Paint damage is still there. What a joke. They don't even come close to fixing all the chips/Knicks in the paint. They did a little area just below the window where you can see wet sanding evidence. But the majority isn't even touched. What idiots. I'm done with this place. Don't buy from Buchanan Auto in waynesboro, pa. Pat, I sent you a pm for those names and numbers..

Can you please post some good pics of the supposed paint damage? Maybe some of the detail experts on here could give you an honest opinion and help you get the issue resolved quickly.
