+1 to Ryan's comments, the tactile feel of the center console buttons and those on the back of the steering wheel are less than robust. That and the cheap roof rails are literally my only gripes.

Seriously, though, guys... with the feature list being what it is, you're surprised Chrysler was using some parts bin items? If every single item, top to bottom, feels like it's out of a $60K vehicle, well, guess what- that's what it is going to cost. The WK2 Overland is slightly over $40K but has all the features and is very close to the feel of vehicles carrying a 25-50% price premium on the sticker.

My wife has a new Infiniti, and we looked at pretty much all the luxury brands before we settled on the G37x... trust me, the WK2's interior is right up there with anything and everything we saw in those dealerships.
Not surprised at all I just see it as the focal point of the dash (almost), yet it's so cheap feeling. It wobbles when you turn it whereas the buttons all have a solid feel to them. Petty oversight is all it is.

My steering wheel button's spring broke under warranty and I have never seen such useless roof rails (wk2) since the SRT8

Not being an owner and only a potential second-customer, it's the little things like a cheap dial that reminds me that it's still a Chrysler at heart

Look up the fuel filter issue on the twin turbo straight 6 which is on the 135, 335, x3, 535, x5... Not just one vehicle... Unfortunately a lot of the problems come from the suppliers. The fuel filter issue was BMW trying to save a few bucks, so they contracted a French company for them. The problem with the rear flipper glass hinges coming unglued is the same thing(wk2). Please dont get me wrong, I'm not saying that the wk2 is the best thing since sliced bread, but for the money it is no too shabby!

Re: "Piece" of junk.. /rant

I put it this way.......

When buying a house, most people never pay attention to the small things that will cause problems in the future. They walk into a house and only see a big new house with new smell.

Somebody smart will look at what type of plumbing was used. Like looking to see what kind of water shut off valves were installed. Is the floor tile or vinyl. Will the carpet get beat down after only one year of traffic. Are the cabinets solid wood or pressed particle board.

This house is nice but was built with cheap materials and I see nothing but problems in the future. I deal with fixing small stuff that leading to big problems everyday for people.

Wait, what? Mine doesn't wobble at all; it's tight like the radio volume control. Perhaps yours is defective?

Count me out when it comes to worrying because one knob works fine but looks and feels like it doesn't belong in a Bugatti. Even Jesus probably got his feet wet when walking on water.

But flipper glass glue deterioration has been a meaningful issue for some time, now, at least in hot weather. Yet, one lone JG contributor was able to grab a tube of different glue and resolve it.

How many Chrysler engineers does it take to change the type of glue used? And how long does it take to implement such a profound change?

Maybe they should add Home Depot to their supplier roster.

I've had some expensive German sedans in my day and the WK2 interior fit/finish/feel is in the world class league. IMHO.

If you take away the NAV/RADIO system and the buttons mentioned I agree. My wife has a bimmer and it makes this NAV/RADIO system look pretty bad.

All of this!

After going through a home inspection yesterday (not a newly built house), it was overwhelming the things the inspector uncovered. A learning experience to say the least. Had me shaking my head more than a few times with "what the hell were they thinking".

Back to the original topic... I sort of like the tactile feel of the HVAC button. Honestly though, I don't use it too often and just set the vehicle to the temp I want and go from there.
