I've seen a few nav systems (including the aforementioned Infiniti G37x), and I'm not sure that the one in the Jeep is all that bad. I really do think that at least the Harmon units (730N) needed a graphical update. How it displays audio information is very five years ago... there's no reason they couldn't have prettied that up. But as far as function goes, it's just fine. In some ways it's easier to use than the Infiniti system and the uconnect for the cell phone is way more reliable than the Honda/Acura HandsFreeLink implementation.
IMO, it isn't as bad as I've seen some claim, it's actually fairly competitive in terms of function, but is lacking in pretty.
