Am I the only one that bought the Unlimited miles/years warranty? For $3500 I thought it was a bargain. I can't wait for my transmission replacement at 200K miles.

No.

But note the fine print: if the cost of the service exceeds the book value of the vehicle, they won't do it. What will your jeep be worth at 200K miles?

Oh I'm sure it will still be worth 10K at that point. Im assuming this will protect me on major repairs for 10 years and other repairs well beyond that. Although I'll admit. Didnt see that fine print

Don't know if you can cancel and re-purchase your warranty elsewhere. I got the same warranty (Chrylser, unlimited miles/years, bumper-bumper) for $2000.

Is that for the MAXCARE warranty?? I didn't think those were negotiable prices...I thought they were set by Jeep corporate...

Yes, it is the MAXCARE warranty. Check out www.chryslerwarrantys.com

If you sign up for a quote, you will get an email with a discount offer. Many dealership finance guys will match this offer...

Re: "Piece" of junk.. /rant

Just checked www.chryslerwarrantys.com again and they are quoting $2235 before the discount that they will email you. That is for the Lifetime Maxcare with $100 deductible.

Re: "Piece" of junk.. /rant

HONESTLY, Ive sat in all the new BMW/Mercedes at the autoshows this year in the tri-state area and I still have to say BESIDES the top of the line BMW/MB (760li or w/e it is and the big 550 amg) the Cadillacs blow the rest of the cars OUT OF THE WATER! People have to realzie, companies have their own sub catagories as far as quality/look/feel and even erognomics go. Most would say oh, BMW is better or BM is better but you cant compare companies on a topic such as this. Thats a better discussion for whose running a better business or things like that. When it comes down to models, each one is different and the quality varies as you go up in price obviously, the more, $ usually the better everything is of course.

TO ME: the Cadillac brand has the best quality/feel and look OVERALL throughout all their models. Obviously not considering a Bentley/Rolls/Maybach as feasible options because those are AS GOOD AS IT GETS, the benchmark for all this stuff. But yeah, Id go Caddy all day CTS-V > ALL, luxury/performance = best of two most important worlds in my book. The C63AMG isn't too far behind, but still not CTS-V in my mind. 556hp>450 hp

Would that worn out transmission be considered normal wear, not a defect in material or workmanship, and therefore not covered? I've also heard that when the repair cost is more than the car is worth, they will give you that and cancel the contract. I'm not sure which book they use to establish worth.

Thats one opinion, I thought the Cadillacs were junk. I've had one too many so called top of the line GM products with built in serious design flaws that they did nothing about. ODs that need rebuild at 40000 miles because they skimped out on a 50 cent thrust washer, timing belts that snap at 50000 miles destroying engines to save perhaps a 50 cent seal.... maybe I'm just bitter...
