After purchasing my 2012 GC, I noticed that the front bumper was sticking out a bit underneath the passenger side headlight. I pushed on it and it SEEMED to *click* back into place. but seconds later it popped right back out again. Took it into the dealer to see if they could attach the bumper correctly, left it overnight, and when i came back to pick it up the bumper was still popped out!

I decided to do a little investigating...I walked around the sales lot and looked at every 2011 and 2012 GC, every trim level, and both V6 and V8....even the new altitudes....

I was shocked to find that every single one of them had the same problem.. some of them the bumper was popped out on both sides...

Can anyone who sees this thread please check your bumpers and post if you have this same issue?

.....the front bumper being popped out like this really does accent the mis-aligned doors and trim nicely tho!

I just dont understand how (with the popularity and sales of the WK2) chrysler can ignore all these flaws, and send trucks out to the dealers without making sure they are FULLY ASSEMBLED!

Kinda feels like I bought a truck from IKEA!...only it didnt come with a nifty little Allen wrench....

My 2011 Laredo X does not have this problem -- nor does it have misaligned doors or trim. I have also had none of the TSBs applied, as the Jeep hasn't needed them. I've had it for 16 months and 20000 miles and have had no problems at all. So, no, they don't all do that (whatever bad "that" folks are talking about at the time).

Only alignment issue is with thr front door my the fender and the gas cap panel which i fixed myself. Little muscle..perfect now :D

Here you can see the difference on my 2012 Overland. The first photo is the passenger side with the gap and the second photo is the driver side which is normal. I noticed this when I bought it. The dealer said to bring it in and they would fix it...

Heres a few shots of mine....

pic 1- passenger side under headlight while in its usual "popped out" position.

pic 2- another angle of passenger side while popped out.

pic 3- passenger side while being pushed in to correct position ( once i stop pushing it pops right back out.

Mine has that problem, but I blame it on the fact that I've taken my bumper off by myself at least three times.

I'm sure it's an alignment issue. One of these days I'll take it off again and reattach it carefully to ensure it snaps into place properly.

My 2012 Altitude has the same problem, bought it a month ago, i have put it in for service three times to get it fixed, when i picked it up on monday of this week, they had ordered new clips. When i got to where they had parked it, it was already popped out again. They couldn't believe it. The service manager came out, and we went and looked at some other 2012 GC's on their lot and three other ones had the same problem.

This is definitely a engineering design / quality control problem! My wife's 2011 GCO doesn't have this problem.

The manager said he will file a tech line star report or something, it is bad when they have a bumper to bumper warranty and can't keep the front bumper on!

I am trying to enjoy my Altitude but this is disconcerting to me!

I noticed mine is a little out as well on passenger side...but not nearly as noticeable as what is pictured above. Minor gripe as I come from owning an e36 bmw 328i and e46 M3 that always have bumper alignment issues. My GCO looks pretty good in comparison!
