Re: possible missing buttons

Looks like their is a TSB for this now: http://wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0800314.pdf, although, I don't know why they wouldn't just replace these automatically if you bring your vehicle in it applies. If built between on or after July 20, 2013 and on or before October 7, 2013 you might have the incorrect center stack

Bill_De reading capability > TurboRush's reading capability. I skimmed over it and completely missed that it was an RRT.

Re: possible missing buttons

What is an RRT?????

I too have the same problem. no off button for park sense. Picked it up new last Saturday the 4th.

I made an appointment with my dealer for Monday. They had no idea what the problem was. when I spoke to the service manager. They gave me a line that they must have changed it and try uconnect.

Also my Eco mode is always on when I start the vehicle. I have to turn it off every time. Doesn't sound right to me. I would think it should start in the off status and the owner have the option of turning it on. Anyone else have any ideas about this?

RRT = Rapid Response Transmittal. kinda like a recall. a repair that should be done before customer delivery.

the TSB was published on Jan 7th. your dealer should now be able to order the parts (assuming they're available).

if ECO mode was defaulted to "OFF", some would complain that they have to turn it on at every key cycle. can't please everyone.

Re: possible missing buttons

True it is personal preference, I suppose some would prefer it defaulted ON, but with the Pentastar V6, the response is as bad as a worn 4 banger. AND the manual states to turn it ON, press the button.

I will bring a copy of the TB/RTT with me I spoke to the service manager today. He seemed to not believe me when I mentioned I read about the default on this forum. I had to make an appointment for them to identify the problem then no doubt another to get the fix.

The warranty repair time allowance of 0.2 hrs for the fix can't help. There are some good mechanics but that sounds impossible.

Re: possible missing buttons

maybe they think that anyone buying the V6 model would be more likely to want as much MPG as possible, therefore, ECO default ON.

should be no need to make an appointment to verify the problem. just go see the service manager/advisor and have him inspect it. give him the TSB number if you think it would help. he can then order the parts and book an appointment to have the ICS replaced.

actually, as low as it sounds, 0.2 hrs is plenty of time to complete this repair.

Re: possible missing buttons

Maybe, that is why I bought it. I love my sons hemi in his RAM, but I hated filling the tank. I debated a long time and I didn't notice it on the test drives. Now it is like starting until 2nd or 3rd gear from a stop. I guess it will become routine to press Start then ECO.

Still can't believe all that dis-assembly and re-assembly in 12 minutes, wow

Re: possible missing buttons

the whole bezel just pops off. 2 electrical connectors to disconnect. assemble the new parts. reconnect the connectors and put it back on. easy-peasy.

Re: possible missing buttons

just noticed on the TSB that chrysler will reimburse the dealership $5 for an employee to inspect and order parts.

As to service giving you a line about "they must have changed it"... welcome to my world, canbbfan. Maybe there's too much "we haven't heard of that so there must be something wrong with you" mentality. Mine was finally fixed, but the experience left me not wanting to take the Jeep back to them even for oil changes.

As to the default for ECO mode, Jeep missed the obvious opportunity to please everyone. The default could simply have been to keep whatever setting you last had. The Jeep can remember what radio station was playing and at what volume. It isn't a stretch for it to remember the last setting of the ECO button.

(Along those lines, the only difference between the radio having an "off" button vs a "mute" button is its ability to remember what the last setting was. If it was muted when you parked and stayed muted when you started the engine, it would be an "off" button. Oddly, on a 2014 Chrysler 300 C I drove with a nearly identical setup, it was an "off" button.)
