Re: Post brake booster recall issue

My appt. is on Monday morning. I hope they did not screw anything up they can't fix. I am suppose to leave on a camping trip Monday, and am already delaying the departure time. If they screwed up the master cylinder, I can't imagine they would have one of those ready. All I can see is that they did put the hokey foam ring around the seem, although the tabs are not at 3-9 o'clock as it says in the directions, and they did not remove the backing from the adhesive on the tabs to stick it down. Unfortunately, I can't see anything else unless I start taking things off, and I'm not there yet.

Car is garage kept, just turned a year old with 11k on it. Visually, I can see no corrosion on it, but more importantly everything was working just fine, before I brought it to them. Ironically, they did not even tell me they were doing this recall. I was in to get my ORC module replaced, and did not tell them to do the recall, cause I did not want eight things done on my car at once. I just wanted the airbag, seatbelt, phone service lights to stop blinking. Now I have another problem:ma d:

Re: Post brake booster recall issue

Really wandering how this is causing this creaking noise, when I hit the brakes or turn. I only hear it at intersections when I am coming to a stop, and pulling away turning. At a stop with the car running, when I pump the brakes it is making a pumping noise, but it does not seem to do anything, I can get the pedal almost to the floor, if I stop for a second. This combined with the fact that with the car not running the brake pedal is a rock has me concerned. I need to get to Monday or I will drive myself crazy looking at this.

Re: Post brake booster recall issue

Pedal should be hard after a pump or two of brakes after shutting it off. If its immediately hard after turning off booster may be leaking. Mines hard on and off and I've checked all check valves they good. I can audibly hear a leak in the cab when I depress pedal

Garage
My dealership called me few days ago and said they had updated rear shocks for me and the need to check my booster. At that point they will schedule appointment 2 months down the road to replace it or shroud it. I really hate my dealership

Re: Post brake booster recall issue

I told them last week it failed they said they didn't have booster and will get me a rental after inspection. Today they clerk went to check with tech on status as its a 15 min test. Came back to me said sorry for wait the booster being replaced. When I asked how If they out of stock. She said they are allowed 3 max boosters in stock due to demand and they are only for those who failed test. Ud yours corroded but working they will put you on waiting list. The biggest danger is cold freezing weather so I can kinda see the logic albeit not the best

Re: Post brake booster recall issue

Just received a call from the dealer. The have a line on a new master cylinder and it may come in as early as next week. Looks like I am going to be in the rental car for at least 3 weeks. This sucks and we should get some sort of compensation for this hassle! Someone should look into a class action suit.

The problem with class action suits is the lawyers get millions and the class gets $1.50.

I don't think a lawsuit is needed, I just want my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee TrailHawk 5.7 Hemi and the sooner the better !! Last Wed. When I took my Jeep in for this recall and the problem happened. The dealer gave me a loaner vehicle. I didn't think to much about it at the time but this vehicle (Dodge Van) stunk like someone was one heck of a chain smoker and there was trash all over inside this vehicle. I didn't want to say anything because I figured I would begetting my Jeep back in a couple days......"NOT".... Went clear on through the July 4th weekend I didn't drive it because of the smell and filth inside. I finally went into the dealer today to check on my Jeep because they never called me one way or the other and at this point I told them I needed another loaner vehicle. Well I was offered another Dodge van which was not quite as smelly and filthy as the one I had. So I drove it home did a total vacuum job inside wiped the dash and all the trim also cleaned all the door jams cleaned all the window inside sprayed car freshener inside really thick closed her up and letter bake in the heat of the sun. Think I should hand them a bill for services rendered ?.......NOT........All I am doing is trying to keep busy till they get my Jeep done because I believe they are doing all they can.

Re: Post brake booster recall issue

If I bring my Jeep in for an oil change, can I reject the recall? I think I would just as soon wait until the techs have a whole bunch under their belts.
