Re: Post your experiences with the TSB 18-012-11

Has anyone noticed that the average MPG readout in the EVIC seems alot more reactive after this update. Seems now when I drive the readout will change 2-3 times (up and down) within a 2 mile stretch, before the update the readout would only change after several miles of steady driving.

Has anyone noticed the gas millage drop since this update? I was getting about 15.5-16.0 mpg in suburban driving, now I can't get it past 14.4, no matter how easy I drive it.

Had the update performed 1 week after I bought the vehicle. So can't really make a comparison.

Re: Post your experiences with the TSB 18-012-11

My MPG's are also down slightly (-1) but I think its more due to the fact that the Jeep is now more fun to drive! Instead of just focusing on mileage I now find myself cheating and getting into the throttle more often.

If I am mindfull of the fuel economy I can still get over 15 city MPG fairly easily after the flash.

Re: Post your experiences with the TSB 18-012-11

On mine, the EVIC was giving better gas mileage right after the TSB was applied, but in hindsight it was just due to the type of driving I was doing at that time.
Checking the one and a half tanks since the TSB, by calculator rather than EVIC, the mileage seems to be the same (i.e. within normal variance). So similar that now that warmer weather is coming, it will affect mileage to a greater extent than the TSB so it will be hard to sort out any difference.

The better performance is worth any minor mileage affect, if any, for me anyway.

Re: Post your experiences with the TSB 18-012-11

It's been a few weeks since I had the TSB performed. Today I realized that I haven't used the manual shift option since that time.

I can't imagine how the aftermarket performance chip makers can improve performance noticeably while Chrysler keeps making this a better vehicle.

Re: Post your experiences with the TSB 18-012-11

My build date is 02/11, but I feel my jeep has the throttle issues. It is night and day when driving in AUTO vs SPORT mode. Suppose I can always drive in SPORT but problem with that is each time car is started I would need to switch it to SPORT. If mine is legitimately "normal" I can't imagine what the ones with the real issues drive like. Had it at the dealer today to get side steps added among couple other things...
They said throttle delay is normal and he was very convincing at playing dumb when I presented a printout of the TSB. When I picked up my car they said it didn't apply to mine as I already had the latest updates.

If in doubt, you might try Milous to see if he can advise. For TSB's applied by a dealer he can check what was reported back to ChryCo. Unsure if he can check what was done in the assembly plant, but won't hurt to check.

You just have to PM the last eight digits of your VIN to Milous and ask him to check.

BTW... what is the issue with your throttle situation VN_Oxbow? Are the conditions similar to what's been addressed in this thread and others on the site?

Re: Post your experiences with the TSB 18-012-11

Thanks for the advice Cherodude.

Jake, I am experiencing some delay on the throttle response at times when in auto mode. Feels like a 2 second delay which could cause an accident in some circumstances. Also a few times have experienced the loss of power feeling on a turn while going at a reasonable speed.

Re: Post your experiences with the TSB 18-012-11

Where were most of you experiencing throttle delays? Before I had the first TSB flashed mine was during launch or slow starts. Now it seems to be more around 30-50mph if I'm coasting and then get on the gas again. Sometimes I have to put it to the floor to get back up to speed, especially going up hill.
