Power doorlock actuator failure

Didn't see any mention of an actual lock actuator failure on here as of yet... so I'm adding mine. Driver's rear door lock actuator took a turn for the worse yesterday. Noticed the lock "stem" appeared lazy upon various lock/unlock cycles. Never heard any strange noises before the failure like the previous models would produce such as grinding, screeching, honking, etc.. Mine just straight up gave up the ghost.

The actuator is part of the latch assembly. List price on the one above mentioned wasn't bad ($60~). Install was CAKE! I did manage to snap a few photos, but was in a hurry so I didn't capture the moment.

I'll try and provide my experience with removal and replacement if I get a few minutes this evening. Total process too appx 30 minutes. All and all it went quite well considering I didn't have any documentation to follow. LOL

Re: Power doorlock actuator failure

Locks on both of my back doors on my '11 WK2 do not work.

Did you take pics/ have description of your fixit job? $60 per door is alot better fix price than $800 I was quoted?!!

Re: Power doorlock actuator failure

This is one of the reasons why I purchased the 7 year, 140000 km warranty with 0$ deductible! Any electrical issue or other problems and off to the dealer I go.
Enjoy your ride.
