Problem: Big Bump/Thud when accelerating from stand still

Hi guys
Model: 2014 Limited CRD 8 speed

What:
Every time i accelerate there is a big thud/bump (like someone bumps you from behind) .
Kicks at about 1.5 - 2000 RPM
Feels like transmission issue or hill start brake disengaging (?)

When:
Started about 3 months ago
started to happen more often
happens under minimal, medium and heavy acceleration
all weather conditions.

any ideas?
Cheers

there should be a transmission service bulletin for the 2014 diesel

http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_2102614.pdf

you should ask your dealer to see if this applies to your vehicle (I'm pretty sure it does).

Have you tried disabling hill start? I found mine surged a lot between 1st and 2nd, but since disabling hill start it has been silky smooth.

Re: Problem: Big Bump/Thud when accelerating from stand still

Thanks guys
I had a read of the PDF, I did not get any notice of this update. I wil be asking the dealers on the next trip there.

I will also attempt to disable hill start to see how it goes. I rarely find the need to use it anyway seeing as in Australia where I live it's mostly just flat.

Anything else I can do?
Thanks again
