Well that is good to hear maybe if we all inundate twitter with this problem and they see multiple people complaining about this issue they will work harder to resolve it. My jeep is nearly a year old it is obviously not very high on their priority list. Maybe multiple twitter posts is the mechanism to raise the priority level. Time to give that a try.

What is the top corporate guy's title?

That makes more sense. Top Care is far from a top corporate guy. Probably tier 2 in customer service.

I believe it was Willx that posted a while back that the fix would be out during the first half of this year. They probably know how to fix it, but need to figure how to make it affordable. If they ordered a new head unit as part of the fix, the vehicles coming off the line may already be cured. I doubt they want to replace all the head units for the cars already on the road.

I guess they feel that is a better place to get info than checking individual forums. As you say, the Twitter post moved the needle.

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

I am moving with legal action. Going to let the lemon firm look at this issue with their techs Monday morning. Not sure what will come of it but will not hurt to investigate this route.

My case worker has given me nothing yet for this issue besides three visits with no fix. He calls or emails very few days and says he will get back to me with the same message. Definitely feel like I am getting no where.
I plan on posting my video to car forum reviews.

As stated below, Chrysler is aware of the problem and is working on it. Going to the dealer before they have a fix is just wasting your time. That is, unless you are just interested in being able to apply the lemon law. That is of course an option, but if you like the Jeep you may be sorry you got rid of it. On top of that, by the time you finish with the legal process they will probably have it fixed.

I hope there is a fix pending, but there is also the statute of limitations on lemon law. I know in my state the claim has to be filed within 1 year of purchase. One concern is that the HVAC system might not be able to be documented as demonstrating the problem during nicer weather. So, if you are a June build and find out that one of your three documented service trips (or whatever) doesn't qualify and now you can't reproduce the problem... then what? At the moment there is no guarantee that a fix will happen (there certainly has been a lot of "this is normal operation" dismissal from Chrysler/dealers, though).

I'm a December build, so I won't have to start worrying about putting that kind of documentation together until this coming autumn. Unless, of course, the HVAC acts crazy during the summer... I won't stand for that.

Regardless, I really hope they have a fix before I even have to consider following this path.

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

I hear ya. There are things I like a lot about the car, but waiting since November I personally don't feel is acceptable driving a car that you can never be comfortable in with the temps. I offered Jeep to make my payments till its fixed, then they can take as long as they want, as expected nothing was mentioned about that request. If no one pushes the issue with lemon or demanding financial compensation they have not huge rush on this issue then. Ultimately would like to keep the car, but not waiting till I am out of my legal limits to seek some action on this. Lemon law does not always equal buying the car back and at this point there is no harm in investigating it. If jeep comes out with a fix they still are required to fix it by law. It may not even qualify for a case, so will keep the group engaged on that front. I bet if the legal firm proceeds and others jump on it as well Jeep will all of a sudden have a new desire to get it resolved quickly.

I thought this was going to be a winter issue only, but seeing others post about it blowing hot air in summer is just insane!

If they could have resolved it quickly it would have been done. Once they acknowledge a problem, the sooner they get it fixed, the less it costs them. That's the motivator.

My vehicle is one year old tomorrow. The a/c worked well during the summer, except one time I had to hit the max button. I don't remember reading a lot of complaints last summer, but I could have missed them.

Good luck!
