Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

Reading through this thread...comparing my issues. Exactly the same. Temp set to 71, either no air, hot air or the front window defroster comes on.

Dealer has replaced the uConnect/Radio control module, but that hasn't fixed anything. I've opened a case with Jeep Customer Care and the dealership...see where this goes.

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

The Jeep Assistance Center just got back to me with the heater issue. They told me i need to bring it back to the dealer so "They will be able to contact their technical team if needed and work with them on trying to resolve this issue on your vehicle"
Basically they have no idea what is causing the problem and how to fix it. For those who are having problems we will spend our time at the dealers until maybe someday they actually figure it out and fix it.

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

I am having that problem; in addition the HVAC doesn't distribute air or cool down in the Southwestern sun automatically. I have a second appointment about the proble. I have never had such an ill functioning system. The '65 Convertible Deville I have works perfectly as have every subsequent climate control before this. It is unhinkable that a basic detail was not sent out correctly, but "It's a Jeep Thing"

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

We purchased a 2014 GC Limited 3weeks ago. To date we have had no problems with the heating/cooling. This is in western canada where we have had huge temperature swings.

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

Asked my dealer for an update today. Service manager soda they haven't been able to duplicate any of the problems I've expressed. Curiously, they replaced a control module 2 weeks ago, I assume without diagnosing anything but saying everything has been repaired.

I'll be there Monday morning to discuss this with the service manager.

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

Finally taking mine in on Thursday of this week. Interested to see if they can fix the heater. Sure hope so, otherwise this car will be short lived. Drives me nuts, it's like driving in a sauna then it gets cold. All I do is constantly fidget with the temp controls. Had a ford Taurus for a rental on a work trip and forgot what it was like to have car with a working hvac.

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

New Flash Maybe. !/31, I took my 2014 in for all the above problems; the tech stated that there was a reflash that had been released that day. I have not been able to assess whether it has improved anything due to the weather but perhaps there's hope.
The tech further stated that the climate control only controlled fan speed and that the other functions had to be manually engaged. Others appear to have been told the same thing in this thread. In fact the "Owners Manual",by contacting Customer Service (rather than the "Operating Manual which comes with the vehicle), states two different things. This has been a most unsatisfactory experience. It appears that our concept of climate control is different than Chrysler's 2014 definition.

So I wonder if this flash is going to be released as a TSB, I don't see it on the list yet.

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

I just got back from the dealer today and they said nothing is wrong with the car. He explained that when you set it to 60 its like a thermostat and the car tries to reach that temp and that is how it works. Out of the 20+ cars I have owned I have never had one where manual still works like an auto climate mode.

If I wanted auto climate on I would have turned on auto, what is the point of manual if you cannot control the heat comming out? I miss simple VS knob of red to blue, that worked fine.

He did demonstrate how sitting in the car it will change heat coming out by going up and down on the controls, so maybe the flash did something? I am guessing no, this may be a short lived car if I cannot get comfortable with the temp inside :-( First american car in 20 years and I see they cannot make a heater that works normally LMAO

They did however load an update for the uconnect system and did two updates for the trans. Eco still seemed awful driving home, so we'll see if that trans is better.

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

Having the same problem with a 2014 Overland, it's 18 outside and I have the climate control set to 61 and still roasting. My 2006 Jeep Limited was right on. It's amazing they can make a cruse control that senses a car in front of you and applies the breaks if required but can't make a climate control system that can adjust the cabin to the temperature shown on the display.

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

I will be calling Chrysler tomorrow although I'm sure it will do no good just like every car company. I just tested this in my driveway tonight, I had set on 60 for manual and I stopped holding the temperature gauge to the vent at 84 cause it got too hot for my hand

I think the transmission update that they did definitely changed the way the car shifts. Eco-mode totally sucks yet, However with it off it seems to be better.

I took a video of the temperature gauge reading of 84 versus 60 and would like to send it to Chrysler so we'll see what they say. I am a hot person naturally and this is the dealbreaker for this car. I will continue to push Chrysler otherwise will dump this and never recommend another Chrysler vehicle.

Re: Problem With 2014 Grand Cherokee Heater

This might be my last Jeep, too. I am thinking of getting rid of this vehicle and finding something else. Not just the frustration with the faulty heater, but the lack of concern from Chrysler. I wrote them 2 months ago and have yet to receive a response. I cannot recommend Chrysler products anymore.
