Re: Problems with JGC Alarm/Locks

Mine has gone off once. The wife and I were exiting the vehicle when it triggered, and no amount of fiddling got it to go off. I began to drive the vehicle away and it shut off at 5mph.

I still have no idea why it triggered, but it has been a one time occurrence.

Re: Problems with JGC Alarm/Locks

My alarm on my brand new 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee has gone off 5 times for absolutely no reason. Highly annoying. Neighbors don't appreciate it.

Here's the kicker... Usually I run out frantically trying to shut the F-er off, and it does;t always respond.

But one night last week it went off at night and I had earplugs in and did not turn it off. Eventually it turned the alarm off and starting running 'Am I being tampered with' diagnostics. Until the entire battery drained. When I went to use it the next day it was dead. Had to call Chrysler Roadside. The only light was the little red Security indicator in the dash. We had a hell of a time getting it running.

Seems insane to me for such a new and expensive car, to have to deal with this. I have 2 newborn babies and I need mobility when I need it.....

Re: Problems with JGC Alarm/Locks

Aside from a bad liftgate handle & bad key fobs, no other explanations from dealers?

Re: Problems with JGC Alarm/Locks

Once the horn went of for one horn-beep when I wanted to unlock the tailgate, before all the doors were unlocked.
Not had any issues more than that.

I also had that happen once, in a busy parking lot. It might mean what it was designed to mean: that somebody without a key tried to get into the car.
