Re: problems with Uconnect

When you are pulling up to where you are going to park press the suspension air down button. You will see "lowering" in the upper right of the Cluster LCD display and it will say "Entry/Exit" with the lowest tab lit up next to it when it reaches this level. It is only possible at low speeds and it will automatically leave this mode when you drive away.

Re: problems with Uconnect

the automatic feature was something they decided was not a good option after they thought about the possibilities. Think parking with your front end over the curb or bump stop and it auto lowering and crunching your front valance. If you do it on your own...your fault, Doing it automatically...Jeeps fault. Press the button when it's safe. Must be with door closed and engine running. I start mine as I turn into the driveway. (when I remember)

Is there any "Downside" to Lowering EVERY TIME you Park ?

If you start and stop your Jeep 2-4 times per day it would really start to add up after a few weeks, months, years. I know that's what the system was intended to do, but is there a good reason NOT to Lower Every Time ? (Note: After 6 weeks I have NOT lowered at all)

Also, after the Jeep is parked and shut off in the driveway, I hear it make a clicking noise for 5 seconds as if it's releasing the air pressure in the system - is this normal ?

Thanks,
Tom

Re: problems with Uconnect

The system will normalize pressure a little after sitting for a bit but it should not really change height.

It is designed to go up and down a lot, It is constantly going between Aero and Standard ride heights when you are on stop and go highway. Plus it also adjusts for weight in the vehicle all the time as well when that changes.

Edit: I am not being completely clear on this, the vehicle can change height a little while the compressor is running when the vehicle is off but it doesn't level the vehicle the same way (if you loaded it up just before turning it off it won't bring the back end up).

Problem I have is when driving away from the entry/exit, the EVIC says "Raising" forever(for several minutes and not based on speed)!!

Have you tried pushing the up button before pulling away, just to see if it raises right away.

I seldom use it, but had to take my 80+ year old, 5 foot nothing neighbor to visit her husband in the hospital this morning. I remembered to lower the Jeep when I pulled in her driveway. She was thrilled with how easy it was getting into the vehicle. As soon as I got back in I hit the up button and wsas back to normal height in a few seconds.

At least if yours does the same you'll know it is likely some sensor, rather than the actual lift mechanism.

Yep, that's what happened to me yesterday which was the first time I tried it. I hit the button as I pulled in the driveway after work and it went down fine, but then when we went out for dinner it said "Raising" for 25 minutes - I was going 60mph. Finally when I hit "Aero" mode it stopped.

I will try to hit the "Up" button next time.

I am still seeing this occationally on recently produced vehicles... I believe that there is a time out on when it reaches the level and it is not updating. The suspension is getting to the proper level however reporting back later than expected and then not clearing that message.

I did verify that there was no leak and the one TSB I am aware of (rear underseat line) were not applicaable to the problem. I expect there will be an update at some point but it appears that the message is not actually correct.

Edit: I also want to add that this really isn't a UConnect problem... I know it is where the display is showing but I have not seen any updates to Suspension functionality in UConnect but there are changes in the Suspension Control module.

Re: problems with Uconnect

Mine does this every once in a while. If I hit the up button it raises to OR1, I then have to lower it to normal drive height. It's happened maybe 3 or 4 times since I bought my Jeep. I will mention it when I take it in for my first service. I have a small list of annoyances, very similar to others here, that I will bring up. None of them individually are enough to warrant a trip to the service department, and most are known issues they are working on. I've had none of the big issues, such as the christmas tree dash lights, or really hard shifting, or systems that cut out, so on the whole I'm a pretty happy camper.

About the park lower suspension, I think it could set it up once you get car gear into parking, or even after you shut down the engine, like the seat and steering wheel! I still think this is a bug and it should be there! I hate to have to push the button!
I guess I'm missing some books. Thanks for the link and this thread!
