Re: Production year 2014 Jeep GC Overland

If you are asking if there are a lot of issues with a May '14 build, I'd say no. If you are currently looking to buy it new, the dealer should have everything (including the latest recalls) updated.

There are some folks that still have issues, but they are a lot less frequent.

I had my March '14 build in for an oil change last week. They did a couple of updates, but that was the first time it was there since February. It took them around two hours.

The 5.7 hemi has less problems but the Pentastar 3.6 transmission still has a lot of problems which Jeep just can't seem to fix.

Re: Production year 2014 Jeep GC Overland

If you're going to buy a 2014 GC, buy the lastest build you can find...at least Oct 2013 or later. Don't trust the dealership to have already flashed all the updates from Chrysler/Jeep.

I have a Dec 2013 build, and at 5,000 miles I started to get the dreaded hard downshift into first gear coming to a full stop.

Ok, the vehicle on hold dated production year may 2014 or I can have even 2015, it will be change completely transmission issue? Also I try to understand the problem started when shifting manually true paddle shift Up and Down or in auto mode D or S or both auto and manual?
If anybody experience delay on acceleration? I heard to resolve delay issue on acceleration, that is use a gasoline 89 or 93. Is that True?

Not all of them. Our 3.6 8-speed is perfect.

I have a 2014 overland with build date 5/14 with 800 miles so far and runs like a sweet dream. for the V-6 you use 87 gasoline.

The 3.6 Jeeps have a problem in which the transmission downshifts hard into first gear when slowing down to a stop. You are probably better off going with the 2015 hoping Jeep fixed the problem but I highly doubt they did. The problem usually shows up in the 8000 to 10000 mile range so it is impossible to tell on new Jeeps.

Thank you jeepster23, very interesting information. Now I have to think twice, Right now I am driving 2011 MB Ml350 4matic Term was 33 month plus extend the contract for 6 more month. Never have any issue with. I read today TCM for 3.0L (exf) 2014 (WK) Number: 21-026-14 have a flash fix for it. Why nothing for 3.6L(WK2) ? Of course the question TCM 3.6L(WK2) not addressed directly to you.

Jeep has tried to fix the transmission problem in the 3.6 multiple times through different TSB's but there has been little to no improvement.

I have a 3.6 11/13 build with 9885 miles so I'm holding my breadth. So far she's been perfect.
