Re: Push button start & smart key...

my wife has an 08 IS250 sport with the x pack and it is hands down the best vehicle I've ever driven. Quality, workmanship, materials....all of it. We drove many luxury cars before buying this and it was not even hard to make the choice. All we had to replace is the tires. My wife hit a spike on the highway and instead of paying $300+ for aa new summer Bridgestone...I opted for the $800(4) Goodyear eagle GT2 all seasons. Dont get me wrong....I love my Jeep.......
But you can compare Lexus reliabilty to any car in the world. I believe they have been the number carmaker for reliability like 10-15 years in a row.

Re: Push button start & smart key...

lexus is one awesome car ... have you ever checked their resale value? it's sky high rocket ... when I was looking into buying a car with the price I bought my jeep the only lexus that I could have come near were 02-03 gs 300 not even close to 2000 above ls and some 04 is loool

they maintain their value that's one thing to be said about those cars ... unlike our jeeps

I think it's more myth/perception than reality... by the time you factor in the overall costs the difference is not all that great. New Lexus models are rarely discounted from MSRP, and many lexus delers have mandatory add-ons (like $495 for door edge guards). Check out some of the Lexus boards and you'll find owners complaining about what they were offered in trade for their vehicles.

X2 the IS is build SOLID! handles great and hugs the road nice. IDK what was wrong with the first one. The one she has now hasn't had not 1 issue outside on scheduled maintenance. And when we were shopping for an IS. The dealer was selling 2006 IS's in 2008 for 4k less than new ones.

Re: Push button start & smart key...

I dont think its possible thru Mopar. But there was an aftermarket company I contacted but not in North America and the price was around $1300.

Re: Push button start & smart key...

After reading through all 19 pages of the thread on challengertalk.com I'm dissapointed. It appears that it is not possible without the manufacturer version of STARSCAN (the step where you upload the software for the PEM is not available on the dealer STARSCAN for a WK). I did not even know there were multiple versions of the STARSCAN module, or that the dealer did not have all of the software on theirs. I would love to do this mod, but would rather not spend the money for the hardware only to find that it is impossible to get the computer to recognize the PEM through the CAN BUS. Milous, do you have any additional information on this, or know how an average joe can access the manufacturer STARSCAN?
