Push button start not working

Got the key fob for my 2011GC Limited wet yesterday. It will still start the Jeep if I remove the push button and insert the key, but will not work with either of the key fobs (even the one that did not get wet) by the push button. All other functions on the key fobs work (i.e. lock, unlock, open lift gate). Anyone know how to reset the push button function?

Re: Push button start not working

Did you open it to let it dry?

Re: Push button start not working

Yes, but had already popped the button out of the dash to use the key fab in the slot. That seemed to kill link between the button and the key fob. Still starts properly and all other functions on the key fob work (both the one that got wet and the spare). Only the push button start is not working. Not a huge problem since I can still insert the key into the slot, but would like the convenience of the button back in operation.

And what happens when you put the button back in?

Re: Push button start not working

No longer recognizes either key fob. In addition to the push button not working, the key lock/unlock function on exterior door handles does not work. Now have to push the buttons on key fob to lock/unlock as well as inserting the key in the slot to start. Apparently have lost the blue tooth link, or whatever wireless link exists between key fob and reciever in the vehicle.
