I got my issues resolved. I needed new keys and they had to be programmed. The key I originally had was programmed to unlock the doors and that's it. I don't think there was any constant vehicle-key communication. The "tip start" doesn't actually require a specific key to work.
If you have "Keyless Enter-N-Go", then you have passive entry and push button start. Tip Start is not the push button feature, but you need Tip Start for it to work. I don't think you can have Keyless Enter N Go without Tip Start.
If you have Keyless Enter-N-Go, but don't have push start, you should.
