Quadra Lift

Did a search and could not find anything. May be premature to ask but wanted to see if anyone else has had this happen.

It is a Dec 13 build Summit with approx 4000 miles. No problems to report other than this one.

Three times, the air suspension has failed to lower all the way into park mode. Even after all the door are shut, it will not lower any more. The last time it made a two second ratchet noise (normal noise) and then stopped lowering - it was definitely not in park mode (still high). When I got back in to start up, it did not show it in park mode. After the last time, I got in the car, backed up a few feet, pulled back in and hopped out. It lowered itself fine.

Is this the start of a bigger problem?

I will presume that dec 13 build means it is a 2014 dec build.

Do you see any error messages regarding air suspension cooling down, please wait?

Do you see status messages indicating "lowering" or "raising" that just stick around forever?

Ever see a door open indicator when its closed? [someone noted if the door is opened it stops lowering]

There's a flash for the suspension at wk2 jeeps but your build date is well beyond that one.

If it is storing fault codes, a dealer [or Autozone reader] could pull them, otherwise unless your dealer can spell "customer service" you might have to figure out how to duplicate it for them. I'd take it in, and keep the service receipt even if they can't, as if it fails later, you have the indication you definitely brought it to their attention.

Re: Quadra Lift

Thanks.

It was built in Dec of 2013.

No warnings or fault codes. No abnormal lights of any kind.
The raise/lower symbol does not illuminate and it does not state that "cannot be lowered while door is open".

It just turns off.

Re: Quadra Lift

I'd definitely find a decent service dealer and have a chat.
If yours isn't one of those, chrysler care can usually aim you at a better one not too far away.

Just to be clear, my understanding is when any door is open or the vehicle is shut off any suspension action stops. Whenever I put it into exit entry mode I wait until the lowering stops flashing and says exit/entry.

SummJeep is on a distinguished road
The newer builds lower with the engine on or off and after the doors have been opened and closed. That having been said I have also experienced this problem you have explained. I feel it's a just a glitch and nothing to worry about mechanically. I have the same mileage on my summit and its probably happened 3 times as well. It doesn't throw any codes and knowing modern computer systems like I do, it's never gonna be diagnosed by a tech at the dealer unless it all out fails. My two cents but I'm not worried at all.

Interesting - the manual I have (probably out dated at this point) states that the car must be running. My vehicle is also a June/July build.

So in my instance if I start lowering the vehicle and open the door, turn it off, it won't continue on (or if I turn it off and get out). However, newer builds the expectation is if you open the door and then shut it, whether the vehicle is on or off it'll continue to its position.

Either way, this is not something I'd be concerned about down the road, sounds like a software bug to me in later (than my vehicle) builds.

Might be normal. According to the tech info if at any time the battery voltage drops below the specified amount it will stop the lowering. If you made some short trips and shut off your truck and the voltage drops even .1 below the spec it stops.

I don't have the voltage spec in front of me. I have seen this happen on rare occasions during normal operations after a cold or warm start and a short trip though.
