Re: Quadra Lift Problem??

Well............I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it looks like my 2011 Summit is belly-up. Not only has the 730N been down for months but the Quadra Lift has gone down for the count and has had the following done to it:

Re-charged four times
Module replacement
All of the lines replaced
New strut on driver's side
And TWO new compressors put in
Numerous discussions with the mechanics and STAR

Along with:

The rear driver's side half shaft replaced
A leak between the transfer case and the tranny
A couple of other trips I don't remember the reasons (I could look them up but too depressed to dig through the file)

The dealership has been good but apparently Chrysler has given up on sending out a specialist as they have a huge territory to cover. I was told that the engineers are so overloaded they can't keep up with whatever issues there are existant on others. It seems they will be giving up on mine with no new ideas. I can't believe it can't be fixed!

What a shame. We loved this Jeep but there is no way I would chance another one after taking a beating on this one. I was never able to successfully use Off Road II on a trip. It crapped out on me every time. In fact, I have some rock rails I'll be selling because the QL never worked long enough for me to trust the system to install them. I hope the rest of you have better luck with yours.

Re: Quadra Lift Problem??

Here's my latest update. I hope I'm not headed down the same road as fireron! They've had the vehicle for 1.5 days and all they no is that nitrogen pressure is low. They're ordering a kit to re-charge the nitrogen and give it the old water/soap test. They said this will be the starting point. Apparently they have no way to test for a leak with low nitrogen pressure.

It will take 5 - 7 days for the kit to arrive. I pick up the Grand Cherokee today and return it to the service department when it arrives. Argh!!!

I miss my F-150 with Synch. The Grand Cherokee and Uconnect have not been kind during the first two months of ownership.

Your right this is a shame. It seems from what you decribe this has to be a leak in the system. How long in between rechanges are you able to get to go up to OR1 or OR2? It sounds from your post like your getting rid of it? Have you asked for a buyback?

Re: Quadra Lift Problem??

Buy back is almost a certainty at this point. The current problem seems to be the driver's side front suspension that will not activate, and there is no orange "up" arrow showing on the EVIC. The control knob on the console shows it trying to elevate but no such luck. Buy back is better than nothing but you take a royal reaming on the deal. About a week is all I could go and still get it to go into ORII.

One of the mechanics thinks it is a software glitch, but STAR is not buying it. I guess if you have a good one, they work fine. I am considering buying another one, option it up as a Limited and sure as hell SKIP THE QL! That is how much we like the GC. We just wish Chrysler would step up and fix this one but it appears as though with the QL, you are sure as heck on your own!

Re: Quadra Lift Problem??

When I bought mine I really didn't want the air suspension because I knew they tend to be trouble. When I first got it I had a bad compressor wouldn't go to OR2. After that repair I have not had any more problems been about 10 months. I try it every once in a while and it does go to all the positions. My only complaint about it is the ride does not always seems consistant sometimes it seems soft other times its stiffer. The only reasaon I ended up with qudra lift is because I wanted the Overland and it comes with it.

Re: Quadra Lift Problem??

The GC spent all day in the service department yesterday. They repressurized the nitrogen system and said everything was working fine. I drove it home and guess what...they vehicle will no go into OR1 or OR2. Argh!!!

I stopped by the service department on the way to work this morning to demonstrate. The vehicle wouldn't go into OR1 or OR2. The foreman came out to take a look. He pushed the button to switch to OR1...the button flashed but the indicator in the EVIC didn't light up. After a couple of minutes the EVIC indicator lit up and a couple of seconds later the "Air Suspension System Cooling Down" message was displayed. I now have another appointment for Monday morning drop-off.

I definitely need to get this problem resolved before boating season arrives and I'm relying on the vehicle for towing purposes.

Re: Quadra Lift Problem??

Seems I am in the Quadrs-Lift problems club as well...lol!

2011 Summitt with a build date of 6/11. Issues of nf not going in OR2, slow to engage in OR1. Been at the dealer 3 weeks now. Recharged nitro tank, would only maintain 80psi say it is supposed to be 175psi.

Now they have replaced compressor ..said it had been tested multiple times, set overnight, still fine. Went to pick up in Friday. Vehicle looked good sitting there...went to engage, no OR1 or 2. Was going to drive over weekend.....got a few miles from dealer front end now in Park Position and rear end in OR2. Needless to say that Jeep is back at dealer.

They don't seem to have an answer...if you guys have any ideas that would be helpful.

Re: Quadra Lift Problem??

Dropped mine off again this morning...this time for an extended stay. At least they're covering the cost of a rental car this time. I have no idea how long the vehicle will be there :-(

That sucks, but it sounds like they are trying to accommodate you. Good luck and let us know the results!

Re: Quadra Lift Problem??

I ended up getting mine back today because they decided to go ahead and replace the compressor. But the compressor is on backorder so they gave me the GC to drive until it arrives.

Sorry to hear about your problems but...

Did you have the common sense to CHECK THIS AT THE DEALERSHIP BEFORE YOU LEFT?!?
