Re: Qudra Lift Problem??

Got my Overland back today. As I mentioned, they replaced the control module, but the Quadra-Lift malfunctioned again on my drive home.

This time, they ran a full set of tests and the Quadra-Lift system passed all the tests. Compressor passed, leak-check passed, etc.

I did a "test drive" with the service advisor today and the Quadra-Lift malfunctioned again during the short test drive...same messages as I've already posted.

The "codes" must be useless, because they apparently aren't pointing the service technician to a specific faulty component.

I did ask the service advisor if they had the necessary equipment to replace the nitrogen, if they replaced a compressor, as mentioned by others in this thread, and he said no...hmm. I don't know if nitrogen replacement/top-off is required with a compressor replacement, but if so, that would likely make them more reluctant to try a new compressor if they don't have the required equipment. Anyone know if nitrogen replacement/top-off is required with a Quadra-Lift compressor replacement?

So...waiting to hear back from the Chrysler engineers.

Some of you have posted success repairing the Quadra-Lift in your Overland after replacing the compressor. If you've had your Quadra-Lift compressor replaced, do you know if the vehicle gave a specific code pointing to a faulty compressor? Or, did the compressor fail some kind of test? Thanks!

Re: Qudra Lift Problem??

I just got the call today that the compressor they ordered for mine came in today. I asked the service writer that same question about the nitrogen. He said he didn't know if it needed to be refilled, but said if it did they had the stuff. We will see I will not be happy if I drop it off and they don't have the refill. With my problem I would get that message when I raise it to OR1 or OR2 and at first they tried the control module and they chrysler asked them to check some things and they came up with the compressor. It sounds like the compressor problem might be common although my dealer has never replaced one. It looks like it shouldn't be hard to change it is right under the air cleaner box.

Re: Quadra Lift Problem??

Changing the compressor requires then to break the seal on the nitrogen lines so yes, they will have to recharge the system. It's no different than replacing a brake master cylinder, you must purge and bleed the brake lines since it's a closed system. If you are unsure they know how to do it I would keep pressing them or call around to other dealers until you find one that is.

Re: Quadra Lift Problem??

Thanks, that is what I suspected. Now I'm wondering if they are reluctant to try a new compressor because they don't have the nitrogen recharging equipment at my dealership.

Re: Quadra Lift Problem??

That would make sense. I find it funny that my dealer didn't seem sure when I asked this question. I am hoping it was just the service writer didn't know. I was really torn about what to do with this issue. Mine works fine in normal and park. The only time I have a problem is when raising it up to OR1 or OR2 I was almost thinking about not getting it fixed as I will never use those anyway. My concern is what kind of problems are they going to create doing the repair. I have very little confidense in this being completed without an issue. I would hate to get it back and then have a problem in the normal setting or a leak in the system or have them not refill it properly. I guess I will let them do the repair and hope for the best. I hate having something wrong with one of my vehicles. I just wish they would show a little more knowledge on the system.

Re: Quadra Lift Problem??

AAAAHhhhh damn QL.

Had my control module replaced 3 weeks ago, now the friggin thing won't hit OR1 or OR2 again. Seems like every time there is a quick dip in temp my system craps the bed.

I'm loosing my patience with this freakin QL system. Good to know I'm not alone here. Will ask them to yet ANOTHER diag and focus on compressor.

AAAHHHHH.

Re: Quadra Lift Problem??

That's what mine does it will sometimes make it to OR1 but it is slow getting there and it won't go any higher than that. Then I get the message "Air suspension needs immediate service/repair". They say the nitrogen level is ok and chrysler took them through all the troubleshooting. The first thing they were told to try was the control module that didn't do anything to fix the problem then after further checking they told them its the compressor. I am getting it replaced this week. I hope it is just a one day repair. I will post the outcome.

Re: Quadra Lift Problem??

There is an ongoing poll in the main WK2 forum regarding QL problems. So far, I'm the only non-resolved response in the poll. Also, only three others have indicated problems, and they indicated their problems have been resolved. I've seen at least a half-dozen others in this thread and another that have current or resolved problems.

If you get a chance, I encourage you to participate in the poll so I don't feel so lonely...

Re: Quadra Lift Problem??

I have mine in today getting the compressor replaced. I will post the outcome later today. Last night I was playing with it and it would go into OR1 but not OR2. So I hope this is it and I don't have any more issues.
