Quadra Lift question

I have searched through past threads and couldn't fully find my answer, so forgive me if I am re-treading covered ground.

I just picked up my 2016 with QL last week. I have noticed that when I go over speed bumps, it makes a strange sound from the front end. It is not overly loud, and sounds kind of like a soft whump/thunk. It only does it on a speed bump (when both wheels articulate at the same time), potholes or manhole covers don't make the sound. It happens at all (reasonable - 5-20mph) speeds, and seems to be slighly louder in normal vs ORA1 or ORA2.

I am thinking this might just be a difference in the way an air suspension car sounds, but want to make sure as this is my first QL jeep. If there is a problem (something loose) I don't want to ignore it. Thanks in advance for the advice.

My 2011 with QL doesn't make a sound. I think you are going to have to delve deeper.

Re: Quadra Lift question

OR-2 you can expect some clunking noises, as you are nearer the top limit of available suspension travel.

I've never noticed any funny noises [except from passengers] taking speed bumps in aero, normal, or OR-1.

Re: Quadra Lift question

Thanks guys. I will take mine in and have the dealer take a look. Probably just something not fully tightened from the factory.

I have the same..in oR1 and OR2 its louder, I read here before that even though the noise is quite ugly..its normal, it has do with the suspension travel, the more its extended the more it sounds, so basically..its not a mechanical problem..its just a noise that you have to learn and live with it.

Victor1960 this was kind of what my thinking was as it doesn't sound like what a bad sway bar bushing or loose suspension sounds like. I was just getting a little paranoid because it was different than any of the other cars/Jeeps I have owned.

Exactly....I added a link in my previous post..which is the one helped me in the beginning as I was also concerned, my suggestion..the dealer wont do anything, just wait for the day you have something else to adjust and then maybe you can mention it...but as far as I know there is no real solution, only solution is to accept it...
Here is the link again : QuadraLift problem

Thanks for the link!! It makes me feel a lot better to know it is normal. I hate having to take these kinds of things to the dealer as I often feel I know way more about my vehicle than they do (jack of all trades master of none scenario). It often just becomes a headache. That is why these forums are so often - the ability to tap into the consciousness of the collective Jeep wisdom.

It is kind of "ugly" as you say, but it's pretty quiet at normal (my wife doesn't even notice it at normal, and you probably wouldn't notice with the radio on). Every car has it's quirks, I can easily live with this one.
