Re: Quadra-Lift Reliability

I use the QL every day. In city traffic I will go to the raised position to be sure my trailer hitch is even more visible to the person behind me. When I go in the parking garage which is so low I can barely stand in it (I'm 6'3") I have the vehicle squat down to the park position. Driving otherwise is either in normal, sport or aero depending upon traffic, speed, my mood, etc. No problems whatsoever.

Re: Quadra-Lift Reliability

As a follow up, my Jeep is still at the dealer, now day 12. The air suspesion does have a leak but every test has been negative. Sitting overnight the pressures in the reservoir tank does fall. They say they are still talking with engineering at Chrysler but still no solution. The wait continues....

I have no idea how difficult it is to do, but I would disconnect the rear lines and bags and plug them and see if it pressure drops overnight. Then I would do the same for the front lines and bags. Seems as though it could be isolated a little.

Hope you have an extended warranty or is that covered by the drive train warranty?

Tom

Apparently there is a protocol for testing various aspects of the system for leaks each taking a 3 hour cycle. If I still have it beyond the warranty, one thought is to have the nitrogen tank checked/topped up at oil change visits.

Re: Quadra-Lift Reliability

On my 2011 JGCO I use the QL daily ... I like switching it up from sport to OR2 sometimes I raise just to park next to a competitors vehicle and I want mine to be taller LOL! No issues other than it seems to develop a grown over bumps when its REALLY cold like below zero cold. It goes away when it warms back up.

Re: Quadra-Lift Reliability

Well, I got the call from the dealer finally. They have found the leak. It's a valve within the front lines that leaks with extreme cold weather. That seems logical since one year ago, January, I had the same problem. The bad news is that it will take 3-5 days to get new lines from Detroit and a bad snow storm is arriving tomorrow night. I've been depending on my summer car (Porsche) for the last two weeks and they have offered a rental which I had declined but will rethink.
I'm just happy they found the problem and it wasn't for not trying. In this case, the weather had to be cold enough for it to recur. My dealer has been very good to me and I sure miss my Jeep.

Peter, did the new lines/valve work for you? My 2011 GC is doing the same thing. All air leaked out and it got really low into park/exit height while my wife was driving it. I drove it to the dealer today. I am out of warranty, what should i recommend to them? I am getting no warning lights or "service air suspension immediately" on the EVIC. I press the different height buttons and it just doesn't do anything. I dont think the compressor is working at all. Or maybe the control module is fried? I do get the "Air Suspension System Cooling Down Please Wait" message if i try to switch modes a few times. I'm going to guess this won't be cheap... so upsetting. I wish I wouldn't have owned this vehicle out of the B2B warranty.

Re: Quadra-Lift Reliability

Jeep GC overland quadra lift has multiple issues, and they reoccur. Buy the warranty, or better yet skip the quadra lift all together, it's been a nightmare for me for the last 6 months!!!

Re: Quadra-Lift Reliability

I was VERY worried about the Quadra-Lift Air Suspension system before I purchased my 2012 Overland! I commented in several threads and even started my own with a poll to try and gauge the reliability of the system. I had my 2012 for almost 3 years. It had its share of issues.

But the Air Suspension system was not one of them!

It worked often and flawlessly the entire time. The Quadra-Lift system on my 2015 Overland (with about 700 miles) has also not had any issues. I love the flexibility it offers and wouldn't seriously consider getting a WK2 without it.

Re: Quadra-Lift Reliability

I love and use my QL daily and haven't had an issue. Once when drying out the rear carpet (my fault), I noticed the air tank was being held in mostly by the carpeting. No regrets.
