Re: Quadra Lift Service Advice

Compressor was finally replaced and has been working like it should for a few weeks. Almost $2k worth of parts, labor, car rental.

Thanks MaxCare, only spent $1200 on you!

Re: Quadra Lift Service Advice

Hi all,

My overland has been showing the symptom of sitting on the front tires in the morning for a while, but it would come up immediately when started. Since a week ago it seems to take between 2 and 5 minutes to come up so i have to wait before leaving or their is no front suspension.
I live in Qatar and it gets hot here in summer and they seem to love speed bumps. Last year I had to replace the upper and lower control arms in the front due to excessive play, the car only has 57K km. So ... at random times the Jeep is now telling me i need "immediate air-suspension service/repair" , and I brought it in for repairs.
The conclusion was that the front shocks are leaking air and need to be replaced, local cost would be like 1500USD each. I found it strange that the system is still working if it has been leaking for a while, since its a closed system. I was hoping anybody can confirm I should replace the shocks. As it is a closed system could it not be a leak back into the air container/tank.
While driving the car I can hear a "psssst" sound after going over a bump, similar sound as when you raise a level with the QL system. Is it normal that the car has to inflate the shocks if you are just driving over a bump. Or is that a sign the air is escaping from the shock and needs to be pushed back in.

Hoping for some expert advise.
Wouter

If it only has 57000km it should still be covered under the basic warranty which is good until 60,000km. Get them to check the system for leaks. The system compensates for leaks by pumping in regular air from the environment, but that is not good for the long run.

First, these are not shocks, but springs: air springs. Doubtful that both are leaking, more likely one is, or a connector or line to that part of the system.

Re: Quadra Lift Service Advice

Isn't it a shock wrapped in a bag.

Re: Quadra Lift Service Advice

The shock is below the air spring.
