IndyBob has a spectacular aura about
Quadra Lift Suspension Error in the rain

I have gotten the Service Suspension System warning message twice in the past month. Once I park and turned off the Jeep and then restart it the message was gone and the QL worked ok.

The odd thing is that both of these times it was while I was driving in a moderate to heavy rain. It has never done it at any other time.

I have 18,600 miles on it and has a build date of November 18, 2010.

I have read on the forum a lot about these messages and problems with the QL but I just thought it odd that they happened to me only when while driving in the rain.

I havenít taken it in yet since I canít reproduce the problem or message.

Re: Quadra Lift Suspension Error in the rain

I've read several reports of "random" QL issues that seem to resolve themselves when the car is restarted, so it is likely that that is what you are experiencing. I suppose it is possible that one or more of the sensors (like ride height) might be getting grumpy when wet. Regardless, the computer should be storing the information from each activation of the Service Suspension Light, and the dealer can read the codes and see what the Jeep thought was wrong. So you shouldn't have to wait until it gets worse to take it in.

Re: Quadra Lift Suspension Error in the rain

My Overland had two of the QL error messages within the first 500 miles - both while in the rain. After the first message, the dealer cleared the codes and declared it a non-issue. The next day it rained and I got the error message again. It went away on its own after a while, so I waited until my first service to get it checked. Dealer said there were no active codes, and did nothing to correct. Since these two times, I've had no messages and the QL has worked perfectly (Feb '11 build, 5400 miles).

Thanks. I am taking it in after the holidays for its oil change and will ask them to check for codes then.
