Re: Quadra Lift Suspension - The Final Chapter

I don't understand the previous two posts. In both cases you took the vehicle in and they gave it back to you not repaired?

STIX is just really nice
Re: Quadra Lift Suspension - The Final Chapter

It's been 3 months since the final repair and no issues to report. Normally my system would crap out after huge swings in the outside temp and no issues.

Hopefully the trend continues. Best of luck to all of you who are having problems with your QL system.. Been there and it will get better.

Re: Quadra Lift Suspension - The Final Chapter

Hi All- sorry I never posted an update.

Ok, so the previous issue of QL errors simply went away. Took my GC in and the dealership found nothing.

The vehicle was fine for at least 4 months.

Now for the infuriating part- I went to the eastern shore for some beach/sand driving and had quite a QL debacle. All was fine until about 10mins in when:

a) the GC dropped into 2WD and displayed an error of "service 4wd system". Nothing digs into soft sand better than a heavy SUV in 2WD.

b) QL lowered to normal and the system displayed an error of "service suspension system"

At this point the vehicle is completely stuck since it lowered itself onto the sand and refused to lift up or go back into 4WD even after a re-start...or several restarts for that matter.

Eventually after being towed out, all errors went away after driving on pavement for about 10mins.

Just took it to my local dealership to get it looked at and voila- they can't find any errors or re-create the problem.

Anybody seen this?

TSB 21-008-11 might apply

http://www.wk2jeeps.com/wk2_tsb.htm

I'd ask your service department to apply it if they can.

Re: Quadra Lift Suspension - The Final Chapter

my ql stopped moving into or2 completely and only into or1 a couple of times in the last few months. the last time in or2 it rode like i was on the rims with no suspension. naturally my dealer has no clue what the problem is and are emailing jeep/chrysler for a solution. i'm not encouraged.

does anyone have a recommendation for how talk to the service department to get this problem fixed the correct way the first time from a dealership that has never seen the problem and doesn't appear to be very capable or willing to do their jobs properly?

Re: Quadra Lift Suspension - The Final Chapter

Im not sure anything will work, Unfortunately most dealer mechanics are not trained on the new QL system and they just kind of replace parts as they go or do reccomended fixes depending on what their scripts tell them to do for a particilar diagnoses...

On this thread you will here many sad sories of dealers mechanics shops.
There are some good ones around that do care about customer exoerience but it seems that for this waranty work they are not compensated well for their efforts. ( from another thread explaining why some dealer shops will take out of warranty repairs where they can make $ first and then worry about your vehicle...

maybe if you post an inquiry here in forums with the area you live in you will be directed to a better Jeep shop. Not all are created equal apparently. And lets face it its a newer product and they are not up to speed on alot of it. Whos fault is it? I dunno but good luck on your troubles. Alot of us have them.

My shock was replaced the first week. And I still have issues with mine too as do many.
