Re: Quadralift FAILED

Took mine in thurs... Jeep engineers had them pressure test and wait 10 hrs. Pressures registered correctly. Sat all weekend, checked again and same thing. Chrysler scratched their heads and have determined it to either be a slllooowwwww leak or compressor issue. They're erring on the compressor side, so it's on order.

Basically since the pressure is holding at the bags on all four corners and the tank, the
compressor doesn't have enough juice to push nitrogen through the system for OR1 and OR2.

For me that makes sense since it's been degrading overtime, especially with swift changes in ambient temp. Anyway, now it's a waiting game. Those of you in the north jersey area can thank me... My dealer now has a nitrogen refill setup thanks to yours truly.

Re: Quadralift FAILED

It's been just over a week since I got my new compressor. I just tried it today in OR1 and OR2 and it worked great and fast. It seems like they are having alot of compressor failures with these. I think they need to get on the supplier and get this corrected.

I totally agree with you on this!!!

I was ready to buy a 2011 Overland but have decided to wait for the 2012 models instead. The major issue seems to be the QL (Quadra-Lift) system and multiple failures with the Control Module, Compressor, or leaks.

Hopefully, Jeep/Chrysler can figure out how to actually make reliable quality vehicles.

Lets put this in perspective, multiple failures as defined by the very limited members of this forum and even here the failure rate is single digits. Considering they have 10's of thousands of QL equipped WK2's on the road and most dealers have not had to deal with a failure (or they would all have the nitrogen fill kits and be up on the diagnostics) I'd say the failure rate is not high enough to prevent someone from buying a QL equipped WK2 but that's just IMHO. 4 corner air may be new to Chrysler but it's decades old technology and the supplier, Continental, is one of the best in the business. I'm confident these teething issues will get sorted out and QL will quickly become a non-issue.

I Have to say the failure rate for the compressor seems to be high based on the small sample of owners on this forum. There have been several including myself that have had a bad compressor. If you compare the rate to say an Air conditioning compressor I would say it is much much higher. If you search these forums I bet you can't even find someone that had one of those fail. So I am sure it is something they are aware of and maybe already took care of the problem. Mine has been working great since they changed the compressor.

Re: Quadralift FAILED

I've had my Overland for 2 weeks and 1 day (about 450 miles total on the odometer) and my QL failed just a few moments ago. Got the message "Immediate Air Suspension Service Required" a few seconds after starting to drive it and it seemed like the front end was lower than normal. When I got home a few minutes later I got out and you can definitely tell the front is a good bit lower than the back. So I tried to lower it and got a message something like "Air suspension cooling. Cannot raise/lower vehicle". I restarted. I tried raising the vehicle and it raised the back but not the front then repeated the first warning. When I tried to lower it I got the second message.

So now I'm guessing I should have it towed...and don't know how I can go to the dealership tomorrow...extremely busy day.

Where can I find this bulletin? I didn't see it here: http://www.wk2jeeps.com/wk2_tsb.htm

Well I almost purchased a QL equipped WK2 a couple of months ago. A local dealership aquired the vehicle based on the specs I gave them (Silver 4x4, V8, fully loaded Overland w/rear DVD). I ended up not getting it because it didn't have the Adaptive Cruise Control and I hadn't finalized my decision on a color.

A young lady ended up buying it a couple of days later and posted on a forum how much she loved it... until the QL failed!

The QL ended up failing several more times and she finally had Jeep buy it back as a Lemon! And this is the vehicle I almost purchased! That near miss was more than enough make me postpone buying one until these QL problems can be fixed.

Oh... and a QL poll I did on another forum shows over a 10% failure rate.

Re: Quadralift FAILED

I have been seeing more complaints over the wk2s that positive feedback on them. Should I stay away from the wk2?
