^^^^I can see everyone who voted on that poll and not all are 2011 QL owners...

Thats the problem with these polls

I know by the number of 2011 members I see join, pay for tracking etc. If that isnt true.....then your poll says there are only 57 2011 owners on jeepforum with QL...but you have to add in the usual 10% of smart asses who just repsond to polls because they are idiots and dont even own a 2011. I have seen this in polls here. WJ, WK and other owners vote just to make themselves feel better about their previous gen jeep. Now if you could get a large population of the over 150000 2011's that have been sold....say maybe 10000 to reposnd to you in a poll whether of not their QL has failed or not...then Ill accept it. I just know from speaking to people "in the know"...that QL is NOT the biggest complaint with the 2011.
LOL...you don't need anywhere even close to the numbers you suggest to get an accurate poll.

The way you analyze data, I could turn it around and say only 132 reported no problems with Quadra Lift yet there are 150,000 on the road. Also, ownership of the WK2 hasn't even reached a year for anyone yet, but there is 10% reporting Quadra Lift problems. Obviously the WK2 has an issue with the Quadra Lift for a significant amount of people.

And that's not even taking into the serious issues of key fob failures AND shutter, among other flaws.

I agree with this comment (except for the spelling of shudder). And I have yet to see that Jeep has moved 150,000 units...last I saw it was like half that. Plus not every unit is a 4x4 or equipped with Quadra-lift. Probably a lot less than 20% of total sales have this system. I'd be interested to see sales stats on QL. Besides, you don't need thousands of responses for a statistically meaningful survey...haven't you ever seen political polling? I'm not saying that this is the worst WK2 problem out there, I honestly don't know, but it certainly doesn't deserve dismissal out of hand as has been suggested in this thread.

The update on my QL problem is that the compressor shipped from St. Louis today and is expected to be delivered on Wednesday. So, hopefully by Wednesday night or Thursday I'll be back in my Jeep. *Fingers crossed* I started a repair log and calculated the number of days my Jeep will have been out of service since my purchase date of 4/20/2011 as 27%

Also I swapped that awful rental Patriot for a Tahoe today so at least I have some room and power. Plus I've ordered illuminated door sills and the aluminum pedal kit which are fortunately in stock and will be installed before I pick it up! New toys for me!

Re: Quadralift FAILED

I do agree that this poll would not be very accurate. With an online poll the people most likely to respond would be those having a problem, so the failure rate is probably far less than 10%. You also would not need to poll more that 500 people to get an accurate poll if it was a scientific poll. I did have a bad compressor on mine from the factory as it would not go above OR1. After testing by the dealer they found the output on it to be weak and it was replaced. I have had no issues with it since. I am glad to hear they are not having many problems with QL and I hope it proves to be very reliable form here on out. I did ask the dealer when I took it in if they had seen any others with this problem and they said they had not. This did not mean much to me at the time because dealers always say that. At first I didn't want the QL, but now I think I am happy I have it as long as I don't have any problems for at least a while.

Could you post the results with the clunker votes omitted? Better data, better conclusions.

Agreed that the poll is not scientific. However, I would challenge that you don't have any data to support a theory that the QL failure rate is below 10% either. I'd love to know what Chrysler knows. My dealer also said they had not seen this issue and I agree they probably always say that in an attempt to appease the customer. Also I'm in the south where 4x4s are rare so it is possible they haven't seen this issue, although they are the largest jeep store in the southeast so that seems unlikely to me. Glad to hear the new compressor solved your problem. When did your failure occur and at how many miles? How many miles do you have on it now?

Re: Quadralift FAILED

I think it needs to be pointed out that the QL system is SOURCED from Continental and not DESIGNED and BUILT by Chrysler/Jeep. It's the same basic system used in Porsche/VW/Audi, Land Rover, Mercedes and BMW SUV's. These air ride systems are notoriously troublesome as any search of the above mentioned models will point out and it seems that the volume of units Jeep has built with these parts is probably higher than most of the others combined. It's also a new design (closed) vs. the decade old open design previously used so the combination of new design, high production volumes and inexperience of dealers and Jeep's own internal support organization has all probably played a role in the problem. I'm also confident that it is a sound system (the 3rd such system I have owned) and once things settle down the mortality rate will drop. Once things stabilize these systems have proven to be quite reliable but do require more service over time than a spring based system, that will never change. If that causes a concern then purchasing a QL system is probably not in your best interest.

My failure was the first time I tried to raise it up to the OR levels. It had about 400 miles on it at that time. It's been a little over 2 weeks since they replaced the compressor and it works good now. I have about 1700 miles on it.
