does it really matter? As it seems that a couple people here have already dubbed the QL the MAJOR problem with the 2011 with ZERO eveidence to back up their BS.

Re: Quadralift FAILED

I don't see where anyone has labeled anything a MAJOR problem... Only thing close is "...one of the most common major component problem areas" i.e., out of major components, one of the most commented on as far as problems. No one's said most of them fail, or anything of the sort.... Not sure why you're so worked up... I do agree that polls are statically meaningless other than showing some or none at all...

I've been reading every thread here and at another forum for about 6 months thinking about buying a WK2. Two most common issues I've read about are the shudder, which is all models with the 5.7, and the QL, which is on a relatively smaller sample size.

No reason people should be chided for talking about it, or tires, or coin holders, etc.

Sorry if it's not my place. I'll leave you to your forum...

Analogy fail. Political polls select a representative sample. Online polls use a self-selected sample which is in no way representative of the overall population. They provide anecdotal evidence at best.

When I first read about the 2011 GC, I looked at the QL design and told myself that was going to be the biggest source of complaint. And then I went ahead and bought a trail-rated Overland, covering my bet with a lifetime warranty. I'm having fun.

Re: Quadralift FAILED

Ok... I'm an industrial engineer so ill settle this for you.... For a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error or confidence interval of 5% you would need 357 samples.

Now have at it.

That doesn't really settle it. In order to get a good samle you would have to randomly call 357 QL owners. An online poll like this you have too many variables that will throw the poll way off. With an online poll the people most likely to answer the ones having a problem. Then you have the ones that just want to make the poll look good. Then you have the ones that don't even own a QL grand cherokee. So this poll really doesn't tell you anything.

By the way did you get yours fixed?

Re: Quadralift FAILED

I gotta say, Im sorry to see all this but hat doe people expect?!?!?! Its the FIRST YEAR!!! This happens with almost ALL car brands and models upon major revamps and releases!
You guys took the chance in buying the first year, personally Id wait a year or two, get the major flaws worked out and go from there. It just one of those things, but hey, hope everyone is dealt with properly and their issues are addressed and hopefully resolved in a prompt and timely manner.

Re: Quadralift FAILED

I can't see how anyone could question the Quadra-Lift Poll results here on this forum. Currently, there is a statistically significant sample size based on the 108.04 percent that have participated!

Re: Quadralift FAILED

Dealer installed a new compressor for me. Mine must have been a dud from the factory because the new compressor raises and lowers at least twice as fast if not faster.

My compressor came in today and they're installing tomorrow. Hoping to be back in my Jeep by the afternoon!

How long did it take for it to come in? I've been waiting about a week and a half and I heard they are on backorder.
