Re: Quadralift FAILED

I am suprised that the service people do not seem to know what is causing the problem, they would rather just keep replacing hardware hoping that it will fix it.
This would cost them more and be a huge inconvienience for the customer. Based on the number of problems reported it is hopefully a small failure rate. The long term reliability of the QL remains to be seen.

The service manager from my dealer said they were working with and taking instuction from an engineer for the QL from Detroit.

Re: Quadralift FAILED

I have been getting the air suspension cooling down message when I have been trying to raise and lower the vehicle periodically. I have never seen any other errors related to the suspension however.

Any thoughts on what is causing this error relating to air suspension cooling?

It could be any number of reasons assuming you haven't actually heated up the system by moving it from normal to OR2 and back multiple time in a row.

Jeep has just published a revised QL diagnostic procedure so I would take it into the dealer and have them run it through that test. Anything posted here would be pure speculation.

Do you have a link to this new diagnostic procedure?

Re: Quadralift FAILED

I was finally brave enough to lower into park mode yesterday, which was successfully completed. It also raised back to normal drive height. However, during that cycle and occasionally after the jeep starts moving I hear what can best be described as a popping sound, or maybe a thump, or like a spring going "boing". I remember hearing this sound when my QL system failed so it concerns me but the jeep isn't throwing any error codes (that I know of) and there are no warning messages so now I'm wondering if that noise is normal...anyone else notice this noise? I have to have the radio off and HVAC blower turned down to hear the sound.

That's the valve closing after the car raises or lowers. The jeep will automatically raise itself from parking to normal height when you reach 15MPH.

Yeah I know but I have heard it often even though I never use park mode. I'll try not to worry about it.

Re: Quadralift FAILED

I use park mode every time I stop. I then select sport to raise it to aero height almost every time I start up. Sometimes I forget to go into sport so I drop it down once I notice.

For the most part I exercise the suspension a minimum of 4 times every time I use the vehicle. Obviously if I'm making multiple stops I can cycle the truck between park and sport mode 10 or 15 times per trip.

I will continue to do this for as long as I own the vehicle. If it can't accommodate that duty cycle then I'll sell it or lemon law it back to Jeep.

My last 3 vehicles with air ride worked and were used the same way. Luckily I never had a failure they couldn't diagnose and fix.

What I"m trying to say is if you are afraid to use the QL system then you really should be raising hell with Jeep.

The noises I hear are the compressor (pumping), valves (clicking) and the nitrogen tank (a ping like you hear on an air compressor when it stops filling). Since the system is always attempting to maintain level you will hear it cycle every now and then when driving or when stopped at a light. I've heard all these sounds at one time or another in the course of driving the vehicle. I wouldn't worry about it unless it fails to raise/lower or throws an error.

Thanks for the reassurance. This is my first air suspension and with having it fail at 400 miles I'm probably being a little overly sensitive to the sounds and actions of the system. I don't plan to use it nearly as much as you do, mainly because I like it at normal ride height. And I will get over my fear...in time.

Re: Quadralift FAILED

I use my Quadralift every time I drive/park etc, similar to MJW930. I have had zero issues in the first 2 months/5,000 miles.

Just wanted to chime in for people that are having zero issues.
