I'd be curious to know exactly what is going through that connector.
The RHR dumping presets and addresses hasalready been connected to the multiple seat setting buttons so I Highly doubt this has any thing to do with that problem.

Re: Quality control FAIL

I'd have to agree on either the heat shrink or liquid electrical tape to protect it better than just wrapping with electrical tape.

A few of us have never used the second fob and we still have the memory issues. No clear-cut cause for this intermittent problem has been found.

That's not true. I as well as others have the dumping stored address problem and have only been using one key, and one setting.

To apply heat shrink tubing you would have to remove the wire and reconnect it. Not an option as there is very little space to work in and I didn't want to get into a situation where I yanked it out and it wouldn't go back in for some reason. I don't know what liquid electrical tape is but I had the car all apart and had to come up with a simple solution. I also forgot to mention that the harness farther up had cut and scrape marks in it. Pretty shoddy IMHO.

Voltmeters can damage new cars as they apply a ground to the wire being tested and the wires are on a bus system that transmits data. Not all of them but how do you know which one.
