Question-air lift

I have a new overland.. and before snow and salt returns..

1. if I remove a tire/wheel to rotate etc.. do I need to disable the air lift? or is it ok?

2. what do you NE folks do to prevent rust from salt build up? (anything?)

Re: Question-air lift

According to the book:
To assist with changing a spare tire, the Quadra-Lift™ air
suspension system has a feature which allows the automatic
leveling to be disabled. Press and hold both the
“Up” and “Down” buttons simultaneously between 5
and 10 seconds, a message will appear in the EVIC
stating leveling has been disabled immediately after both
buttons have been released. Refer to “Electronic Vehicle
Information Center (EVIC)” in “Understanding Your
Instrument Panel” for further information. Driving the
vehicle over 5 mph (8 km/h) will return the air suspension to normal operation.

It's easy enough to disengage the system so why not just do it?

Keep a good coat of polish/wax on the body surface and get the undercarriage rinsed regularly under salty conditions.

Re: Question-air lift

Whenever you are messing with tires, wheels, oil change, or are under the truck for any reason, it is important to disable the air suspension. The truck can "auto-level" the suspension on its own even with the engine off. If you are in the wrong place at the wrong time it could get ugly.
