Radiator fluid leaking from either side of the front lower bumper cover

After a run out to the store this morning there is green antifreeze dripping from both outside edges under the front bumper cover. I did not see any obvious leaks from the top, but looking from underneath, I see it collecting on the lowest point of the felt-type fender liner very near where it connects to the lower front bumper cover. I'm going to bring it in to the dealer in the morning.

Has anyone experienced this as well?

Thanks
-Bob

I have seem some posts. These radiator have plastic tanks. I occasionally can see a wisp of steam coming up from grille when stopped at light, with an occasional smell of antifreeze, but the level hasnt gone down. I mean to have them pressure test the next time in for service.

Same symptoms here. I've had that steam issue as well.
Dropping it off this morning. I'll know more this afternoon.

Will do. They were pretty booked up for today, I didn't make an appointment since it happened yesterday, and there were a few ahead of me. He thought, if they can get it checked it would be toward the end of the day, if not tomorrow morning.

I expect that they will do a pressure test while in there

It shouldn't be green anyhow, as far as I know if someone put regular antifreeze in that alone will be problematic. I think 14 would still be orange and 15 is red, not sure the break but it's definitely not green.

Re: Radiator fluid leaking from either side of the front lower bumper cover

I wondered about that too. The overflow bottle had pink fluid in it.
I did just come out of a drive thru car wash though?

---------- Post added at 01:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:33 PM ----------

Just called the dealership. The antifreeze should be pink.

I'm going to guess it must have been the soap solution used in the car wash.
I asked them to do a pressure check since it was in and I had seen a wisp of steam come out of the grill area every once and awhile.

They're going to call me back here in a bit & I'll report back

That would be very fortunate, I hope it was the car wash.

Re: Radiator fluid leaking from either side of the front lower bumper cover

Got a call back. Pressure checked the radiator and it was fine. The antifreeze is pink, so this must have been the soap used in the car wash. Makes sense now because of where it was leaking from and it really didn't have that antifreeze smell to it.
But they did see that power steering fluid was leaking from the power steering boot on to the rack from a bad seal. They are going to replace the rack, seal & boot tomorrow. Still under my 3 year warranty, whew...
Glad I got it in and they found the other problem.

Good catch, that would definitely be a jeep for ya and personally I'd stop using that car wash.

It's just like any water runoff after a car wash I suppose, maybe just had too much soap in the mix at this place. It recently opened up in my neighborhood recently so I thought I'd give it a try. I like these touchless ones that spray the undercarriage in the winters out here.

I'll ask them about the steam issue when I pick it up tomorrow.
