Radio power on but no sound on a Grand Cherokee Laredo 2012.
time to time the radio has no sound, i can see the display, i can change channel but no sound. I turn off the engine, lock the door ,wait few minutes, restart the vehicle and most of the time the radio works properly???????!!!!!!.
anybody know what is going on?
The radio in my 2012 Grand Cherokee has the same symptoms. No sound in AM, FM, or Satellite. Shut off the Jeep, go into the store, and the radio works again. It happened on Friday and again today. I have an appointment at the dealer on Wednesday and they will update the software at that time.
I'm feeling old now that you need software just to listen to the radio. Transistor radios are only a little older than me.

Same problem here. Happens periodically, usually can turn my car on and off to fix it...or disconnect the battery. The dealer says its because I "don't know hot to use a navigation system." I think that really means that they know about the problem and just don't care.
Have any of you all tried a Uconnect head unit factory reset?
The factory reset can vary by year, Jeep model and the model number of the head unit itself.
The directions for these resets are buried somewhere in this forum, might want to try a search.
Worth a try.
