Last weekend while at the dealer I asked them about this problem and they said there was a gauge in the evic screen I said please show me and then after not finding it I get a line of what I thought was bs they said you will get a message saying you have low voltage and to check your battery or have it replaced.good luck
No, no warning light or message at all and I pay very close attention to EVIC messages.
I had driven it Saturday night (late), but it sat all day Sunday. When I went to start it on Monday morning it was dead. The only light was the red security light was lit solid.
I did ask the dealership if there was anything I could watch for or anything in the EVIC that would tell me the battery was low and they said no. So apparently you have a working battery until it doesn't work anymore and then you have a dead vehicle.
I did notice some electrical anomalies (the air recirculation button and radio issues I previously mentioned), but I have no proof they were related.
I'm not sure what good a battery gauge would do you. Even if it showed you low voltage Jeep won't warranty the battery until it fails their tests. My battery tested fine after they charged it the first time. Luckily I had them hold the vehicle overnight and it was dead again in the morning. They charged it again and only then did the test show a faulty cell.
